Have you seen Tacanrpikiyemani in any other censuses? He is listed in Ancestry.com in two separate public family trees as Alex/Elick/Alec/Alexander Spider's father. The trees are Renville and Madison. When I try to research further I am urged to buy a membership and because my finances are wanting I cannot. His name was later changed to Blacksmith, is there any correlation to the OTHER Blacksmiths (Wabasha)?
I have been searching through earlier censuses from here and Mikes site but because I am on a phone I cannot zoom in on the names! Is he on anyone else's tree?

There was a public member tree on Ancestry that had Tacanrpikiyemani as Alex's father. This owner of the tree has the probate papers listing this. Yay! Tacanrpikiyemani was later changed to Joseph Blacksmith. Has anyone seen these names anywhere?

By the way, I love your name, I guess I would like to know where he was born. I know the censuses only go so far back, unlike the white mans censuses. I don't think he is one of the Wabasha's but I do want to know where his wife is from also. Thank you so much, I really appreciate any help you can give me.

twiliyums: your Joseph Blackmsmith is the one who had Good Star woman that i mentioned above. ONE THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THE AGES ARE APPROXIMATE. GIVE A LEEWAY OF + OR MINUS 5 YEARS FOR THE PERSON BORN BEFORE 1900'S. ________________ twiliyums: I stand corrected. and apologize for my error re. Joseph Blacksmith or Tacanrpikiyamani being married to good Star woman. yes, your Alec spider was Tacanrpikiyamani's son. Tacnrpikiyaani and wife were born in Minn. Tacanrpikiyamani diedjan. 8,1929, at the age of 87 yrs. His spouse Hdugowin diedJuly 7,1927.

Whoo hoo, I'm so loving this site. Is it expensive to hire a genealogist? I'm so poor right now, my bologna doesn't have a first name. During my wild sporadic venture through Ancestry.com's 14 day trial, I came across an ancestor named Brother Of All, dob 1839-ish, Ciyeyapi. I've since have been unable to locate him on any censuses because I'm perusing on my phone. If I recall correctly he was on a census from Crow Creek and the last page said Mdewakantons exiled from MN. I'd sure appreciate any help here.
Geez, I got the year wrong, it says 1833-34. I'm sorry. I clearly recall seeing in the last page the words "Mdewakantons exiled" and now I can't find which census it was.

Okay, my incessant searching and lack of duties has led me to search for Eliza Lovejoys mother Julia Sky. I got some info from Roxy that Chief Wakute was Julia's father BUT the date of births didn't jive. The tree Roxy had has been approved by the BIA. Here on another post I was told who Julia's parents were but no one can find out who Eliza's (Tasinagiwin) father is. Puh-lease help.

twiliyums, we do not know who the father of Eliza Tasingiwin was. She and her sister Marpiyawastewin were born before 1862. There are no records of marriage by Indian custom .All we know is that they were siblings of Samuel Stone of Santee, acording to Nancy Myrick who testified at Marpiyawastewin's probate Hearing.

Twiliyums: Is there a library or LDS Family History center near you? They have free computer access to Ancestry.

Nearby? Here on the corner of nowhere, there's no library and they might not even have access to ancestry. Lol. I wish I had a membership. But there is one about half a days ride by donkey so I may try that when I get an a--.

You know each of my ancestors come from MN exiles. I'm full blooded, but my mother told me one of them was one of the 38, and I am looking for the names of the 38.
