twilyumz: you are not ignorant!!! heck,I had never even heard about the mdewakantons, let alone who they were., before I began this project some 7 years ago. I wish i could tell you for sure who alex's parents were, but i can't.
You have to get his heirship report from NARA.you have to pay for any copies that the researcher finds for you.
I have seen Ajiji, he was mentioned in someone's history that I have on file cards, because I do not have a card on him. i will have to go through my index and see if I can find him. Where did you get the name and birth date from?

One of the Sisseton censuses. Ajiji is listed as Jonas or Jonah's father. Mother is Pakanwin. Ajiji turned to Ajiji Williams then John Williams.

I went to my other web site,I moderate with Mike denney, and low and behold,in the Census Section for the Sisseton-wahpetons, I found Tacanrpikiyemani and his family. He received a land Allotment in 1887 at Sisseton. Tacanrpikiyemani received land allotment in 1887. 1887 annuity roll list him at age 40, wife Hanyowin age45, son Kangimaza age13, and dau. Aperrotewin(sp.) age 11, and son kaputagmani age 9yrs.
1891 Elrod Roll(original) lists him at age 44, wife is Heduruwin age 45, son kangimaza age 15, Napiruriwin(sp) dau. age 13, son Tukanapunagmani age 11, and son Tawacinhisnana age 7 Hedurnwin(sp.) age 45, son Kangi maza age 15, Napirui- win(sp.) dau. Age 13, and Tawasinisnana, son age 7Tukanapunagmani-son age 13.
Jonah may have changed his name to Williams, but I don't see any record of Azizi changing to John Williams.
i fail to seer what this Azizi has to do with your search for Alex St6ar4's parents. good luck in your search, I am done here.
1887 Census lists him as William Ajiji age 33 or 38 Husband, wife is Pankawin age 40, and Jonah is age 10. 1891 Elrod Roll lists him as father, age 40;nancy age 29,,son esau age 17, and son kelly age 3. wife 1893 Census lists him at age 43, wife Nancy age 31, son esau age 19, son kelly age 3.

You've mentioned in a previous post that Asa Lovejoy was my connection to the lawsuit had I known. Can you tell me how? I don't see him on the 1886 or 1889 census? I know you're probably tired of me by now but gosh darn this is so exciting and fun.

Ajiji or John Whispering was the father of Gideon Williams SWS# 783 1887-1966, who was a World War One veteran, and a Whipman in the the Grass Dance. Gideon lived here at Spirit Lake in the St. Michael District. LouieG

Louie: Was Gideon married, and did he have any children?

Hermin: I don't think he had any children as the Williams name is not present on the Rez today. The only way to answer the question is to search Gideon Williams probate. later, Louie

I found an Augusta standfast, who was married to William Wapahaduta(he died in 1912 at Sisseton), then she married an Ajiji/Williams, after she was divorced from William in 1906 at Sisseton. Her son with William, said that her second husband died in 1927. it is too bad you weren't descended from the son, as his descendents were allowed in to the Wlolchild lawsuit as Intervenors, bacuse his last wife's ancestors, the Freniers, and Renvilles, were Scouts for the Army durng the 1862 uprising..At present their status for sharing in the damages awarded by the Claims Court, is unsure, as the case has gone to the Appellate court on Appeal..

Alex Spider was listed on the Renville public family tree on Ancestry.com. But my all too brief 14 day trial encounter with ancestry.com has ended and I can't verify again. His father is Tacanrpikiyemani and his mother has many different spellings to her name. There are four different references to Alex/Elick/Alec Spider here on the proboards. I've sent a message to Tamara but she never wrote back. I'm too poor to buy an Ancestry membership much less pay for NARA records so I'm becoming an Oyate junkie.
