Would any one have a probate on Eli Mato? Eli Mato married Anna Deloria. They lived in Charles Mix, Co., SD. Any info on Eli would be much appreciated, I searched at Lake Andes, and Yankton but he does not have any info on him there?

Am trying to find a link from Thomas Quinn to his father William Quinn. Williams father was Peter Quinn the interpreter killed aug 18 1862 I think William wife was Angelique Jeffries or Gerfres

Have you looked at the 1856 Mixed Blood Roll? Seems to me that it showed the line there. Also Angelique Jefferies is the daughter of Elizebeth Jeffries mixed blood who spent most of her life in Minnesota. she shows in federal census in St Paul and on the Flandrue Papers.

I read a story in the 1886 Mitchell newspaper about a Thomas W Quinn and it stated that he was a nephew of the murdered agent and that he was mixed blood from minnesota. If you send me an email, I will send it to whomever wishes to see it. TTordsen@aol.com

His children were William (1828-1906) (m.Amgelique Jeffries in 1849), Mary Louise, Alice (m. John Collins), Marguerite (b.1836) (m.1st.S.A.Findley & 2nd. F.X.Brousseau), Samuel (b.1839) & Thomas (b.abt.1841). As a young man he was pressed into the British Navy and arrived at the York Factory on Hudson Bay. Quinn left the Red River Colony & Ft.Garry for Ft.Snelling in 1823, stopping at Joseph Renville's post at Lac qui Parle enroute. From 1836 until his death during the war with the Dakota-Sioux he worked as an interpreter & farmer for the Indian Agency. He move his residence from St.Anthony Falls to Bloomington in 1842 and to Ft.Ridgley in 1862.
