Did you know that the 1875 census done at the Santee Agency lists the Mdewakanton still in there bands and there ages and if they had a house, horse and cattle, then on the right hand margain sometimes they would write down if they died, if they went to live with someone else, or if they had just come or left from another agency like Sisseton or Flandreau or MINNESOTA!!!!
I cooied this from microfilm at the LDS.

I am so impressed about how everyone finds so much information from so many sources and is so willing to share their findings with ease. I commend all of you for how you have contributed to so many families and individuals who never knew their ancestral history. I am totally impressed with the dynamics of this forum.
Keep up the good work everyone.
You have helped so many find their way on a difficult path to satisfy their need to know who they are and where they come from. This in itself has helped them to stand stronger in their power which has strengthened our families, communities and our Nations. Pidamayedo, Nina Wopida Tanka. SZ

Sara; according to the census records she is listed as his mother. Isaac never remarried as far as I know. he came out here to the pine ridge indian reservation and was the minister for st Julius church in porcupine, sd. he died there in 1913. tunkannahowin/tunkanwicahwin is listed as his mother, or as the grandmother to joseph taylor. tunkannahowin died in 1900 and joseph died in 1898.

1875 Santee Agency Census Mahpiyaduta's Band
Nagicagamani - 1 man, 1 woman 2 girls under 5, Inawicaya - 1 women, living with Nagicagmani George - living with Nagicagmani
I think Inawicaya refers to Mother, most likely his.
