Not sure why I wrote this down but I have a note that says that Nancy St Clair's parents are Magadehiyaye and Canrpeyuhewin. She had a daugher named Isabella St. Clair and Stephen Wabashaw/Blacksmith was Isabella's husband. I may have more on her but this was a note I ran across tonight.

Pidama yedo! Sara and Dawn for sharing the data accessible to you. I really appreciate what you have posted. Can anyone translate: Magadehiyaye and Canrpeyuhewin?
Where did Magadehiyaye and Canrpeyuhewin come from? I need a lead for them as well. SZ

I know I saw the wabashaw and blacksmith name on some of the records at the SF geneology center. You might want to check there for a start. People that go there are to sign in and I know I have seen the name on the sign up sheets also. You could call there and they would probably give you the names and numbers of others looking for the same names.

I am not sure of the ages of the people you are looking for but there is a Nancy St Claire on the 1887 Santee census she is listed as Anpahdwin women Nancy St Claire 56.
There is also a listing for a Stephen Blacksmith 26 (Tatekehomani) wife Elizabethor isabella 19 daug emma son deceased pauls. 2 months and a daughter born 1889 Sarah (Sully) Blacksmith 1
There is also a Edward Blacksmith 36 married to a Isabella (Upanhdegawin) 52
The only other information I have is on a Charles St Clarie.
Hope this helps.

Sara: I am working on the genealogy of two Dakotah names (Lovejoy and Red Owl) associated with Santee, Knox, Nebraska; specifically, Asa Wakanimhanku Lovejoy (1815-1903), whose granddaughter, Sarah Victoria Lovejoy (1893-1973) married Johnson Red Owl (1886-1947). Can you help me connect the families that are spread across Dakotah land, from Santee to Flandreau to Pine Ridge to Sisseton and beyond?
I am asking for your guidance and help because of the exetensive knowledge you seem to have on Dakotah history and genealogy.
Thanks, MS
