They are enrolled at Rosebud Sioux Tribe not from Standing Rock.
William Mclean married a woman from Standing Rock and with him he brought his brother and sisters who lived with him and his wife. I am thinking the mother and Father died in Rosebud so they ended up living with their brother. It shows the Waste Winyan's mother is from Pine Ridge.
I thought I would relook at this post here is what I found
James McClean (Mclean) is a fur trader Living at Rosebud Sioux Tribe
James McClean -white Spouse: Wastewinyan MclClean-(Catch Enemy-Pine Ridge)
Children: are on the Rosebud Sioux Tribe census William Mary Thomas Julia James
Standing Rock Census: William McClean married Lizzie
He has his sisters and brother living with him and his wife Mary Thomas Julia James
This is the frist time the mclean show up on the standing rock records In the 1896 Standing Rock Census we have head of household William Mclean age 20 Mother: Mary Mclean age 41 Sister: Henry Mclean age 5 Sister: Julia mclean age 2
Then in 1898 Standing Rock Census
William Mclean age 22 married: Lizzie Mclean age 21 daughter: Lizzie mclean age 2 daughter: imelda mclean age 6 months
Mother: Mary Mclean age 42 daughterL Mary mclean age10 Son: henry Mclean age 7 Daughter: Julia Mclean age 4 New daughter: Lizzie age 1
In the 1905 Standing Rock census mother died
so they are listed Sister: Mary Mclean age 17 Son: James Mclean age 14 Sister: Julia Mclean age 11 Sister: Lizzie Mclean age 8

thank you for re looking into the mcClean (mclean) again. this is a great find!! i have mary mclain death as 8/6/1899 age 45. julia mclean is my great grand mother. i am in the middle of probate/estate on julia mclean (mathison). it is on the black hills i am thinking. minerols rights, she don't own the land its self but what is under the dirt. their is a cobell case that is going on that julia mclean (mathison) quifies for that case as well and i was told that the mother mary waste winyan may have something in canada as well, but not really sure of that one, i have to look into that to see. also their is a cadotte case that is going on to that i had heard of but i don't know of that one or if their is a case on the cadottes. i notice that you don't have a hattie mclean. that would be a sister to julia mclean(mathison) so i am trying to think if hattie was married then. hattie married to john cadotte. julia married martin mathison. lizzie married to leo eckman mary married to a claymore. james never married. i have his last will and it states that he never married. henry i don't know anythig about. thank you soooo much for rechecking into the mcClean/mclean tenter/marilyn
