Ray: I think it means paw or foot of the Dog( nape( paw or foot) sunk(shunk)- dog or it could mean running (nape) sunk(shunk short for shunka) dog

Well I have a Josephine boyd w/o of David boyde(Tatankaska). her parents were Wakinyanhotanka-Loud voiced cloud, and Wakanhditokahewin.Josephine's sibs were Emma godfrey and Makaakinwanke h/o hazadutewin(Red Berry woman).i also have an Isabella boyd, d/o Wasicunrione(sp.) and unk. -both dead. No information on herspouse(isabella's) but she did have a daughter mary who died,another daughter named Julia boyd(I don't have any more on her) and a grandson M she and moses are on the 1902 Santee census. then I have an elizabeth boyd, nee wolf, d/o Sam. wolfe and Julia collins. Josephine was married to John Greyiron, and then to Louis frenier. Hope this helps.

Ok here goes nothing.... Don't know if this is Mdewankanton, Fox, Sox or what.. but Theadore Lupien married first Angelique Ghiar .... her father Basil Ghair and mother Ma Koch I Koue (Catherine) all from Prairie du Chien.... anyone want to guess what tribe this is. Thanks Tammy
