Hi there, my name is Kassaundra Blacksmith.
I have been looking for family on my grandfather's dad's side, and his name is Lorenzo Blacksmith, born around 1910. He would have went to a boarding school on Haskell Nebrask or around there in the 20's. I seen the name Lorenzo Blacksmith on your list, and figured I would message and see if maybe there was a familial connection.

It is ten years later now that I am finding this. I am a novice, but I just want to add one name where I see it says unknown. You have Jessie Picotte as the son of Charles Picotte and Louise Unknown. She is Louise (Louisa) Benoist, sister of my great grandmother Julia Benoist Smith. Julia was married to Alfred Clement Smith. In my grandma's Bible she mentions her cousin, Jessie Picotte. There is so much more if anyone is interested.

I just discovered this blog during a search. Justiceforall (in 2007) posted the lineage of Wabasha III in this thread. In the list is Georgina Isabell (Belle) St. Jacque. She had a previous marriage to Thomas Murray of Glencoe, MN, my grandfather. Georgina remarried a Hamilton, or so I'm led to believe. I would love to know the story of that part of my heritage. My father was estranged from his mother (Georgina Isabell), and I know nothing of that part of our past. Can anyone enlighten me. The name Oker appears in the list, also. This name has been linked to me on 23andMe via DNA. What's even more fascinating is the facial similarity between my Dad (deceased) and the Chief (III).

can someone tell me more about the goodteachers on the tree ? I have a tree that was given to me from a cousin. it says not to be published only for sacred use of immediate family . Notes taken by zicha tamahecha lean squirrel n fr daniel, his early history hard to understand adoption names confusing, there is a stamp on it , but hard to read, also added is seems to need correction or more authenticy.. this tree is numbered like your tree so i am interested in the goodteachers on this tree line this one goes back to george goodteacher or tancann ahunpi alot number 100 . any help on this would be appreciated as i don't see anything for the goodteacher or rouillard line here. thanks. I'm a descendant of the Wabasha family. My 2greats Grandmother was Maggie Wabasha Goodteacher. Her son by the famed outlaw Jesse James is my great Grandfather, Joe Jesse Chase. She & William Goodteacher had numerous kids. I can't tell you all their names, but yes, that's where the Goodteacher comes in, to my knowledge. Maggie's father was Thomas George Wabasha "WAPATE" & her mother was Mary "HDONICEWIN". They're on that family tree posted earlier. Sue btw, If anyone wants some corrections in my area of the family, I will be glad to list them. Grace Campbell & Joseph Nelson Chase (no Jr.) are my grandparents. My Grandma Grace is also in the Wabasha family. Her Mother was Mary Wabasha, Napoleon's daughter. Grace & Joe were cousins.

sherwynz: try Mike Denney's website at mdenney.proboards58.com/index.cgi?I have posted informtion on the Wabashaw surname there. I 'm not sure if it is in the Family Trees Section,or the To Ask For Help On A Person section.I do believe I posted a tree that was at Renville county Musueum . it was drawn up by a Wabashaw descendent. go to Google and type in "TheWapasha chiefs hereditary Line". This tree was taken from Mark Diedrich's book. I recently found information that may have the name of the first chief Wapasha wife's name.
