Iron Elk's sister was Anptuokiyewin aka Blue Eyes. Henry St. Cloud aka Cloud was the nephew of Iron Elk and brother to John Bluestone and the others listed below. Henry married a Sarah ? who used the name Drum. Henry had two children Gustav and Lucy. Lucy married James
Graham and died of tuberculosis later on in life. I forgot who Gustav married. Does this help you at all? There is also mention of Henry in Iron Elk's probate.

I do not know about Robert. These were the only two children listed in Iron Elk's probate. Sorry.

It looks like we are related to bluestones .......is there any more information on the bluestones info that could help us in ouy search of their mother Sarah or anyone we could contact that we could confirm info.?

who do you believe that sarah is a mother to? john bluestone and henry st. cloud were brothers. their mother was iron elk's sister, Anpetuokiyewin, aka blue eyes.

Jackie My brother found an old newspaper clipping from a paper in Minnesota...Robert was hit by a train and died around 1889 I think....he couldn't find any other info on him. His wife, Jane and son, Samuel both ended up in Sisseton. The 1917 McLaughlin Roll and payment made in 1923 lists Jane's address is Peever, SD and Samuel died in 1923, with the same address as Jane. |

I just was trying to get information on the last name of this Sarah thatis married to Henry. Is is Graham??? ANd her Indian Name. I just posted wrong. SORRY |

Hey I found out on a census that Sarahs INdian name is Ohinna or Otinna. Now to find her English name

Okay... now that is a name i keep coming up with in Sisseton records. Otinna or Paotinna. I think every time I search for Clouds I see that name. I think I am going to review my old posts and see what I can see.

I really don't think that is the right one. The one I am searching is married to Henry St. CLoud.
Just tonight I found her in the St. Marys Church Records with Henry St. Cloud and thier son Gust St. Cloud in the records of Communicants. Penciled in light pencil above her married last name was Weston. I am thinking that is her name., However, it doesnt explain her Indian name though. Do you have the SIssteon Census'?? Could you email them to me?? If not could you check her name out for me as Sarah Weston??

If my memory serves me correctly, I think Henry St.Cloud's wife's maiden name was Dumarce. I could be wrong, but that's what my brain is telling me now. SZ

The wife of Henry (St) Cloud, was Sarah Otihiyayewin.. Henry's parents were were Candeskamani and Anpetuokiyewin.
Their children were Gust St. Cloud( he lived in Flandreau,SD), and Lucy St. Cloud,w/o James Graham. I do see a Robert Cloud on the microfilm of the original 1885 Enrollment of the Mdewakanton Sioux Indians of Minnesota,which was submitted in 1886.
As for the Robert Cloud, there isn't a middle initial B. in his name, on either this 1885/1886 list, or the 1885 Annuity roll which also has him listed.
I don't buy that about Robert Cloud. The witnesses testifying at the Probate Hearings would have remembered if Henry St. cloud had a son named Robert. You will have to show me written proof.

Re. Gust St. Cloud, he was born in Minnesota, anddied in S. Dakota. His parents were Sarah, as we already know and his father was called "Frenchie"-a French Trader from St. Paul.
gust was married twice: first to Mary Rupayusnasnawin and they were wed at New Ulm, Minn. before 1862. Mary's sister was married to Charley Minnetonka, and they hda a daughter, Winona Minitonka aka Judith Wakeman.
Gust's second spouse was Julia Rogers.

Oliver Moore was Sarah Moore Frazier's father. She was my gg-grandmother and the wife of Star Frazier. Would anyone know who her mother was?
