Does anyone have any information on the RedDay family from Albert RedDay to present? I have all the information up to Albert and I am in need of either his birth record or baptismal records. This is badly needed by my wifes family. We know Albert was a part of the mdwankanton but have no hard evidence that states he was there. He was married to Louisa Hapan. Both born in the 1850's

albert Redday died 12 Nov. 1911,in Roberts County,SD His daughter,Eunice Jane Redday was born Feb. 13,1897. Father : Albert Redday, mother: Louisa Hapan. I found Albert and Louisa with children:Joshua and Eunice Redday living in Norway Twp, Roberts,SD in the 1910 US Census for Norway, Roberts, SD In 1900 US Census, Albert and family were living in Dumarce,Marshall,SD As for a baptismal record, you may want to check with Jackie Hahn aka Peacekeeper. You don't say where in MN he was born, which makes a search for his baptismal record much more difficult. I would see if you can get a copyof his probate from Sisseton BIA office. There are Reddays still living in Minnesota. I would try and contact tthem and see if they may know something about his family.

Thank you. We do have all of that information. As to the date and place of Albert's birth we are still trying to locate that information. The BIA in Sisseton was not very helpful when I called about his probate. We know Albert's father was Jonah RedDay (Apetuxa) and we also know the family has lineage to Mary Pay Pay. does anyone have anything with her ties? She is on the census. and does anyone know if her real name was Mazakoyakewin?

Maza means Iron, koyake means clothing or covered. Mary Paypay's Indian name was Tasinatopawin.

One of the Redday women was married to a Dumarce, according to my records.

I would suggest that you provide as much accurate information as possible to help us search for what you seek, instead of giving it out in bits and pieces, and assuming that we know something about the individual you are seeking information on.

Which Dumarce? My records indicate some were married to Myrick's and a Dewolf plus there was a Christine Court-Cavanaugh.

Okay... I am interested now. I can see the ties to Mary PayPay. That would be through the Wilson line right! Sheesh... I wish I could clarify these ties as much as you all must want to, and I am not even a relative! -my stepdad is.. Here are the things I posted on Redday family on another thread There is an Anpetudutawin listed as having an allotment record in the Sisseton Agency files
Anpetudutawin 361 (handwritten in 98) shows no english name
Anpetusa (Jonah Redday) 1333
Redday names on this list
Redday, Anna (LaCroix) 403-700 Redday, Anna Max (Wicite) 387 Redday, Augusta 390-872 Redday, Abel (Manikiya) 809 Redday, Daniel 404 Redday, David 1334 Redday, Ella (Dumarce) 816-399 Redday, Emma (Dumarce) 870-389 Redday, Esther 401 Redday, James 869-388 Redday, John 394-811 Redday, Joseph 391 Redday, Enoch (Tiniyaye) 1198 Redday, Stella (Hisgun-Tamazakan) 529 Redday, Louisa 392 Redday, Mary 395-812 Redday, Marie (Wakanyuhewin) 958 Redday, Moses A 393-810 Redday, Joshua 397 Redday, Nancy 815 Redday, Nancy 871 Redday, Samuel (Hoyekiya) 813 Redday, Samuel Jr (Tatrmuyankuna) 400-814 Redday, Sara (Oiyotankewankanwin) 398 Redday, Sophia 402 Redday, William 699 Redday, Rose (Wilson) 396 Redday, Jonah (Anpetusa or Anpetuxa) 1333
If you notice, some of the numbers run together in families. Sort of like if they are allotted together and Anpetudutawin's allotment number does not run close to the Redday's family numbers. This might mean although her name is close she might not be of the same family. I am going to look a little more and post later.
I am posting this again as it has the few indian names for some of the Redday family members. I can also check the annuity rolls for names as well... those that I have anyway. Let me know what names you might want to look for.

I can post what I have seen. The younger descendants of the above mentioned Redday family have connections to Mary PayPay only through the daughters that married into the Wilson family. The Wilson children being the children of George PayPay and if one were to assume the children of Mary PayPay. Not wishing to ASSUME anything, I am yet struggling to figure out the exact line of Julia Wilson, who marries Paska or Titus White and has a daughter named Ella White...
