I know of another family that is looking for information on Julia and David Wilson, whose descendants lived in the sisseton area. I dont know that the two are connected but you never know. I am searching through the board and am wishing I could spend the afternoon with Hermin1's "family history card" file!!! Lots of info = Lots of work!

I thought I saw Anqeliques church records on the new website with Santee/ Flandreau Church records. It might have been Blessed Redeemer.
I forgot the web address, it was posted yesterday and the day before though.

Oh yeah, and I wanted to thank you so much for posting the Prisoners who did fire list. I had responded immediately but it didnt post, so who knows what I did wrong. Like alot of people here, I keep my eye out for other people and the Ninayopte although spelled differently is someone that another family searches for. They do know that he was imprisoned in Davenport. They are searching for more informtion on him. They know his descendants and he is listed in a probate they have as Job Ninayopte. I have seen him sign at the end of a Sisseton census, 1887 I believe. I had immediatley made a call to let them know that I saw his name on the list you posted. Thanks much.

She married William Abraham on Jan.1 1876 at Santee.by Rev. William HolmesRef. Santee Marriage Register,LDS Microfilm).
William's parents wereWicanhpiota and Tunwanhdinapapewin both dead.
Angelique's parents were Charles Wilson #954 on the 1902 Reg. Santee Indian Families, and Cecelia Wilson #955 on the same register.
William and Angelique's children were Paul F. Abraham, Euginia R. Abraham, and Ray M. Abraham. this is from the 1902 Reg. Santee Indian Families.

Charles Wilson aka Casketanka Age 45 Full Blood
Parents: Robert Hakewaste, and N/A
Spouse : Cecelia Age 41 1/2 blood aka Mahpiyamaniwin nee Bloodgood.
Her parents were n/a and Nancy Bloodgood.
Charles' and Cecelia's children: Victoria Wilson, and Charles Wilson.
Charles and Cecelia were wed Mar. 4,1877 (Ref. Santee Marr. Reg. LDS Microfilm)

I forgot, that Charles and Cecelia also had daughter Angelique Wilson. She was listed with them on the 1884 Santee Census.also on the 1884 Census was Emily Wilson, her sister. Emily wasn't listed ont eh1902 census. I do not know what became of her. Did she marry or die?

if it is the Julia Wilson I think it is, her father was George Paypay and her mother was Icagewin according to records I received today. Julia died @1895. Her Indian name was Hiwankewin. She and David had sons Titus and Hazen. Julia was born @1863-1865 at Davenport Iowa, while George Paypay was in prison at Camp McClellan.

I am again searching for the a Julia Wilson, but dont think this is the same person as the one previously searched. This Julia Wilson is the g/grandmother of my stepfather.
Julia Wilson (according to the 1900 Marshall County Census) b 1859 Minnesota both parents born in Minnesota. She is listed as a full blood and with an indian name Mni Hota win or something very close
She married Titus White or Paska
The line I am searching goest to Elizabeth King w/o Amos King (he is son of Sgt James King indian scout Ft Sisseton)
Elizabeth King's death certificate shows her mother to be Julia Wilson.
The 1870 Moody County Federal Census shows a Julia Wilson in the household of
John Wilson
Sara Wilson wife
Julia Wilson age 15
Esther age 6
Ada age 11
Does anyone know anything about this family? I will start by looking in the Flandrue records.

The 1900 census does show the wife of Titus White to be Julia Wilson and the Spring Grove Township Roberts County 1900 census shows the John Wilson you mention above same indian names for him and his wife. At this point I am unable to connect the Julia Wilson/White I am seeing to the Flandrue John Wilson family. I read the story about MR and Mrs Rogers and so dont think it is the same Julia. I had thought it might since the volume of the Word Carrier that belongs to my stepfather has many notations next to articles where the Rogers family name is shown. |

Here is what I found : elizabeth White bornapril 19, 1887. Father:titus Paska White. Mother: Julia Wilson. County: Roberts.Ref. South Dakota Births:1856-1903.
titus White shows upin the 1900 and 1910 US Censuses for Long Hollow,Roberts,SD

amos King is on the 1900 and 1910 US Censuses:
1900 Census den Twp, Marshall,SD, lists him at age 28 with wife Aden age 25, shildren: winona Age 2, ,Richard Age 1

1910 Census lists him at age 36, wife Elen Age 35, children: Evalina age 12, Emmalina Age 2, and Winnie Phoebe Age 2.Also with the family is Charles White,brother-in-law Age 25.
So Elen's maiden name must be White.
