ON the 1887 census Cetanwinna is listed with Joseph Philbrick, her grandson. She is listed as deceased. Maybe she is burried under the name of Philbrick.
This is what I had for spouses and children for her:
Sp1) Ituransia - children Nancy 1848 Sp2) Cetankinye - children Lucy 1850 and Helen Isabel 1852 Sp3) Wizun - Children Clinton 1855, Rebecca 1854 and Hannah 1858.

deerclan, I have a copy of the sale of Poor Bear's land after he was deceased. It list his heirs as Clinton Philbrick, Hannah Lovejoy and Rebecca Philbrick. It looks like Clinton and Hannah sold their share but Rebecca kept hers. If you send me you address I will forward you a copy along with the family tree I have. I question some of the information on the tree but will send you what I have so far.

Regarding Granny Weston I belive this to be Phillip Weston mother Old Eve daughter of Big Thunder-Husband -just says husband of old eve, she had( Fearful Face Wamdiokiya )-( Mahpiyawicasta-Cloud Man)(Paul Masakutemani)(Eagle Help) I listed on the thread about clouldmans indian name how to translate it. I lisited a web site about flandreau Homesteaders in 1878 click on the link and it list the 25 families that got permission to leave santee and start up again by flandreau. 1870 Minnehaha county census list most of these families that are on this homesteader site. Some stayed on there home steads and others later sold there land and moved back to minnesota by the 1880 later alot of them show up on the 1886 -89 Census. So if Cloud Mans name was changed to Weston his brothers were change and there children cause after they turn 21 they got there allotments. I say this cause there are more Westons listed then the three brothers list with cloudman. David Weston -owancaduta Eliza Weston-tateojanjanim John Weston-Matoge Philip Weston(Marpiwicasta) Robert Weston -Tate owancamari Lucinda Weston there are some stories written by Mrs Eastman and she said she got the data for her books by listening to old eve's stories. Hope this helps someone.

sacararm: Thanks so much for your input. The information I posted re. the offspring of Old Eve, was just one chapter from an old book called Lac Que Parle Its Missionaries traders andIndians, by a professor at South Dakota State University. From what was read to me ,this would be a very interesting and valuable resource for information on the Indians, etc. of that area prior to 1862.
