Yes I found the founding date of March 6 1871 so adding 40 years this picture would have been in 1911. Question?? Would anyone know why this group of people were in the picture. Family get-together or some kind of event or recognition? Why all the people in the grandstand ? Was the picture taken as an afterthought on the grounds before or after some other kind of event?

If you are referring to the Yellow Medicine / Lac Qui Parle photo with some of the Wahpeton Cloudman / Skyman family -- the photo was taken in 1926 or 28. Louie

Hi Sisco ~ Hattie Hepanna or Pazi is married to Andrew Hepanna or Pazi. Andrew is the son of Adam & Nancy (Itatewin) Pazi. This information is from Adam Pazi's heirship papers. Adam Pazi is the son of Cloudman of the Wahpetons. I do not know what Hattie's maiden name was. ~ Hawkgirl

sister Hilger says that Ada,m pazi is a son of Cloudman. She notes that: Adam, Itesa(RedFace) Ironheart, and Tatankanajin or Taokiyeota are brothers. also she says their grandfather was a Sisseton Chief, whose father wzs Standing Buffalo and his mother was Wahcawin(Flower Woman). Ref: The Hilger Papers. Also Pazi means Yellow Head.

I also have a Pazi (Devils Lake Sioux) whose spouse was Waanatan. She died Dec. 10, 1908 at age 82 years. she and her spouse had a child that died very young. Her sole heir was John Tawiyaa, son of her deceased 1/2 brother cados(sp.) i also hae some people with the surname Paji and am wondering if the j in their name ws pronounced like the z, would this be a variant spelling of pazi? Helo!!!!

The correct spelling is Pazi (yellow Head) she and Maza (Iron / metal) were Chief Waanatan's (Waantan II the son of Charger) plural wives.
Kado is a French loan word for a Spade in the set of playing cards. Yes, sometimes the J and z are interchanged. Toksta, Louie

Hermin, Louie, Hawkgirl, dang u guys are all good and I thank u so so much. I am on search for a Winona Pazi who died in 1873 at Santee in the small pox epidemic. She was married to Robert Hakewaste Wilson. I do have court case of Roberts and does not say anything other than she was Winona Pazi. Robert was born abt 1829 so figured she may be close in age, but one can never tell. Well I will keep looking and try and sort out all the Cloud men now. Gives me something to do over Turkey Day. Have a Great Life and a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone.
