Thank you for helping me out on Whirlwind Buffalo Woman but Ree had another wife included in the last two census' of his life.
His wife, in the 1886 ICS, is translated as "Carroin." Upon studying the handwriting it could also be "Canoin." In the 1887 ICS, the translation of her name is "Canain" but again, after studying the handwriting it looks like "Canoin."
Thanks again for any assistance on the correct translation of her name.

Lavanah Smith - Judah, I just read your post from Jan and Feb 08 regarding Canoin. I have her listed as the mother of Thomas Rising Cloud,James MadBull and Mary Pretty Feather.I'm trying to find more on Marys father and now I would realy like to go back further on Canoin. On each of these three it just lists the father a dead.

Do have dates on these three siblings? It would surely help me out. I could possibly search ICS for more info. I did do a search on Mary Pretty Feather m. to Joseph Pretty Feather and born abt 1860.
I have no children for Canion as she was born abt 1822 and her children would have been married. The ICS did not begin until 1885 so it is hard to find parents of ancestors who were already married and born in the mid century. But, if you give me a little more information, I might be able to find something for you.
Also you say that she is "listed" as the mother of Mary Pretty Feather, Thomas Rising Cloud and James Mad Bull. I would very much like to know the name of that listing, if you would be so kind. I too, would like to know more about her, maybe we can help eachother.
