FELLOW OYATE MEMBERS: IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT MANY OF OUR PEOPLE ARE GETTING REJECTION NOTICES AT THIS LATE DATE. SADLY THIS MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A GOOD LAWYER WHO WILL HELP THEM BY FILING A MOTION TO INTERVENE AND TAKING THEM ALL THE WAY TO WASHINGTON. I AM REQUESTING ALL MEMBERS WHO HAVE HAD TO HIRE AN INDEPENDENT LAWYER TO PLEASE SHARE ALL OF THEIR NAMES AND ADDRESSES AND PHONE NUMBERS SO THAT ALL THE PEOPLE HAVE A FAIR FIGHTING CHANCE. PLEASE HELP EACH OTHER IN THIS EFFORT. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY LAWYER REPRESENTING INDIVIDUALS IN THIS LAWSUIT, PLEASE POST THE INFORMATION. REMEMBER THIS SITE WAS CREATED TO HELP ALL THE PEOPLE.
Thank you
Jackie

Thank you Jackie It also wouldn't hurt to do a background check on whoever you get. There are a number of ways you can do this, even do a web search. It is your right and any lawyer would understand that. You want to make sure you are getting someone who is knowledgeble on not only the law, but Indian law also. Listen to your instincts, as well as any facts. There are a lot of vulnerable people out there and there are people who will try to take advantage of them, sad but true. Best of luck everyone!

Redbrother you make an excellent point. Look at what has happened with so many of our people who signed with certain lawyers in good faith, believing everthing the lawyers told them, and then BAM!!! they get rejections without understanding how it happened. Just like anything else it never hurts to be safe. Check out your lawyer possibilities. Look on the web. Check with people in the same area. Do what you need to do. Good luck!

Gary J. Montana Montana & Associates N. 12923 N. Prairie Rd. Osseo, WI 54758 Telephone: (715) 597-6464 Fax: (715) 597-3508 lakotagm@yahoo.com Here's is his website: www.montanaseminars.com/resume1.html You could probably get more information through the American Bar Association. Says he needs current addresses, telephone #'s and e-mails. He is asking for a little money up front to help him travel, etc. Call or write for additional information. I understand that you need to sign and send in an 'attorney retainer agreement' form. Note, that I am getting his information through word of mouth. I would say, judging from what I am hearing, 'whatever you want to do' do it fast!

Thank you redbrother and fancy for your help. I hope some of the people that need lawyers will check him out. I will be truly saddened if they are not recognized because of time restraints and lack of representation.

Gary Montana is requesting that any person(s) interested in representation EMAIL his office rather than call. His email is: lakotagm@yahoo.com His fee is 15% rather than the 33-1/3% that Kettering and M/K are requesting. He is charging a $50.00 fee up front for adults and $20.00 per minor for costs which will be reimbursed if you win your case. If you are unable to pay the fee at this time, arrangements can be made. That is correct.

Dig hard to find more information, keep all communications open and get a hold of anyone you can to share information. There is something not right about this whole thing and no one is exactly yet sure of what it is yet.

I don't understand. The retainer that I saw was pretty standard and not very different from MK Law or any other attorney for that matter. It states that if he wins he will get 15%. If he incurs expenses then those will be charged if he loses. Right now he is asking $50./adult and $20/minor. I didn't attend the meeting so I might have missed this so please clarify.
