I bought a book this morning by Philander Prescott. I hope it provides me with some more knowledge of our history and possibly genealogy. Here is the name:
Recollections of Philander Prescott, Frontiersman of the Old Northwest 1819-1862.
DONALD DEAN PARKER
Lincoln,University of Nebraska Press, XI, 272 PP. 1966 Red Cloth Map, Reproductions. Prescott spent 40 year on the upper Mississippi in Minnesota as a fur trader, interpreter & friend of the Sioux. In 1860 he wrote down his experiences as fur trader, life at frontier forts, impressions of the impact of white civilization on the Sioux of the region. He had a Sioux wife and was one of the best friends of the indians, but was ironically killed in the Uprising of 1862. Hard Cover in DJ. FINE/ DJ FINE. 1st edition
