The Ferry at Santee. Probably during the 1920s. Was looking at these pictures, fascinating and also tragic to me! On this particular picture (I'm usually pretty good at guessing decades from looking at automobiles) it looks like this pic was taken somewhere in the early 19-teens, possibly the 0-hundreds, judging from the automobiles on the boat. Although it could also be from the 1920's, if the automobiles are simply old. Photography goes back well into the 19th century, the ladder part, but the auto, I believe started to hit the roads at the turn of the 20th century. I bet someone who is expert at boats and photography could probably give a more accurate year of when it was taken. Let's say for instance, a person in the world of auction! People like that' unlike historians' they research well and are very well versed when it comes to the details and accuracy of objects.

How about a church meeting? Episcopal Convocation, Roman Catholics have an Indian Congress as do the Presbyterians. I went to Convocation at Santee once when I was much, much younger.
Love the pictures.
Thanks a lot.

I am very interested in knowing if Tateibobdu is this person. He was the father of Maggie Tuttle and I believe Sbuwin. There is also speculation that he took the name John Tuttle. (John Tuttle is on the marriage license of Maggie and Frank Trudell). wazi
