hello
in doing the census have you came across a lady name mary mclean/mclain? indian mane is catch the enemy good woman winyan waste i am tracing my family tree and i can not find this lady at all any where, could you help me in trying to fine her. death is august 6th 1899 at the age of 45 years old.married to a john mclean/mclain. her children were sent to a boarding school and i don't know what the name is or were it was at. i have a picture of her gave and she is in st beeds in the dakota. so is julia rose mathison.
children are as follow
1 hattie mclean/mclain. married to john cadotte
2.julia rose same last name.married to martin andrew mathison.
jlia birth is july 4th 1893.
3.lizzie or lizabeth same last name. married to leo eckman.
4.james same last name.
our family is from dakota territry rose bud and standing rock.
i have some inrollments on other family members from standing rock sioux tribe of north/south dakota.
or can you post this on the site so that people can read this info.
much needed help in searching for this lady she is my ggg mother. i am trying to finish the family tree that my mother started back in the 1970's and worked until her death in 1992 i would like to finish this for my mom so that all what she had started don't go down in vane. my mother passed away of cancer at the age of 52 and i know that she wanted this finish before she passed away.

hi I see u have good info about indian,do u think u can tell me about whiteshield .i am trying make my family tree .i know my great grand father name was silas whiteshield ,i dont know anything after him,acctully i am not sure his father was moses whiteshield or not becuse i found 2different silas.thank alot for ur help.and also i try save these form u put in here but i cant see anything.

Hello Wade, this is your lucky day. I am glad you joined. From what I gathered on another site you are Rosebud Sioux and live there. I can be of help. There are two Silas One is from the Rosebud and his dad was Moses. he was born in 1904. But Maggie Yellow Cloud was not his mother. His mother was Alice. Maggie was married to Moses later in life and them had no children. I am sending you two census that state that and give you more names you may have heard. The other Silas is from Oklahoma. I am not sure which forms you seek. Go to search. Type in Jimmy. Click on Oyate board. It will show you all Jummy's post. 862
Also have news for you. I believe you are at or near Soldier Creek. Faith Roubideaux was married to a son of Maggie Yellow Cloud. She remembers Moses White Shield. She can tell you a lot. Plus there are others near you like Uncle harvey Provincial in Mission. Tell them I send you. Ray

If you are wanting to view the census pages posted above, just click on the little picture and wait for the page to load in a new window. If you have dial-up, like I do, this will take a long time. You might want to try to find a high-speed Internet connection, either at a friend's or at your nearest public library. If you do find a page you want to keep, just right click on it and save it to your desktop. You can then view and print it with your photo editing program.
Viewing the number of pages posted above will take you days with dial-up. I know! :-)
