Where is Pembina at? Does anyone have a clue where this was located or does it still exist? SZ

North Dakota. It was originally part of Canada, if I remember correctly.

pembina was one of the original counties of the Minnesota Territory. It covered part of N.Dakota. The other original counties were Mahkahta,Wahnahta,Dakotah, Wabashaw, Benton, Ramsey, Itasca, and Washington. If you want to see what the Minnesota Territory looked like you'll have to log on to www.rootseb.com/~mngenweb/images/mn_terr.gif I don't know if you'll be able to bring up the map or not, youcan try. I do not know how to post stuff on this web site, that I get from other web sites.

www.rootsweb.com/~ndgenweb/It states on this website that Pembina was originally part of Dakota Territory, later becoming part of North Dakota. I think what Hermin says is also true. Keep in mind, that these lines kept changing for quite a while. jackie
