Wolfchild invited all direct lineal descendants to enroll into Lower Sioux. Does this mean if you're currently enrolled elsewhere, you can relinquish your membership where you're currently enrolled & then re-enroll into Lower Sioux providing you have substantial proof of your lineal descendancy? What makes this funny is most would rather be enrolled in Prior Lake as it's got the best benefits. I have a few ways I look at this. Congress aside. Prior Lake should have the most enrolled members, simply because it can support a larger community, opposed to the Lower Sioux rural community. Second, this statement leads right back to all receiving equal amounts of benefits, provided by all three communities. Third, If you wish you can be enrolled in the Minnesota Mdewakanton Dakota Oyate. & their consitution states that you can enroll in the MMDO after you relinquish your enrollment in any current tribe you're enrolled in. What I don't understand is why would anyone enroll into the MMDO, being that it's not a federally recognized community/tribe.? I believe, that what's happening here is, Prior Lake will lose it's federal recognition status. & will simply be replaced by the MMDO. Years after it's taken to Congress. & this will be the decision. Hahahaha! Joking! However, I can't help but think that if Congress understands the situation, that this would be a near common sense decision. & Hey, if you all don't like my comments or remarks. Let me know, I will stop posting immediately at your request.

I appreciate your thoughts and feelings and thank you for sharing them with us. I think you have some valid points. Also this site is a good place for listing your opinion as long as the language is appropriate and no personal attacks take place. So I as an administrator respect what you had to say and how you said it.

Sav-- As Peacekeeper says, your comments are valuable because they represent another way of seeing issues. What I like about this site is that we don't have to feed each other's egos, and we can differ all we want, so long as it doesn't get personal. Keep up the posts. I am enjoying the dialogue.

I think that mirrors my feeling as well. I think there is a difference in between a post about some of the issues and an outright remark directed toward an individual on the forum. I appreciate the openess about being able to state ones opinion but negative remarks about someone who does such dont seem to serve much purpose.

Watch Lower sioux soon fall apart come tax time. They usually receive a TAX check before tax time to help pay their taxes. This year they wont be getting one. I bet thats going to make alot of lower sioux members angry at the council wondering why they are not going to be getting a BONUS Tax check that they have been used to.

For what its worth here are my 2 cents: In Order for Buttes new Mdewakanton Tribe or whatever shewants to call it,to be recognized by the Federal govt., they have to fulfill 7 requirements, and one of them is that they have to have been politically active for at least 10 yers. Plus, the BIA has the authority to decide whether or not they will recognize them. And Buttes with her co chief kaardal know this. That is why they are laughing all the way to the bankwith the proceeds from their so-called conventions, and selling of records. Plus they stand to clean up whether or not they win this case.

I think some have seen this and are strongly supporting Lower Sioux to set forth a plan.
