Not sure if this is how I post this or not but this is my mom's side and I'm interested to see if anyone has any information on them. Especially if they have no dates. I'm trying to get as much information as possible for future generations.

I attached a marriage certificate for a Josephine Cordieu and Giles Flute. I have no record of a Julia except Julia Cepka who is the mother of Lillian and Raymond Flute. So Winnie or Katherine is not Lillian and Raymonds mother. Next Charles and Lucy were married after George and Lucy. They were married on 9-24-1907 and my grandmother Winnie was born oct. 28,1908. So George is Lucy's father not Charles. Thanks for the help. If you have any more information regarding my tree please share it with me.

Valari: I and another member puzzled over who was Winnie's father sometime ago.The member thought that the child katherine and The one named Winnie, were one and the same person. I checked my Flute file, and have written down that Lucy married George Hillers in 1914,and the marriage license you posted, which I also have a copy of,says she married Charles in 1916. The 1909 Yankton Census shows Lucy age 19yrs with Winnie, age 1yr?Where was George,if they wed in 1908?A copy of George and Lucy's marriage record should resolve this puzzle.

Hermin1, I could only find the ancestry.com copy for George Hillers and Lucy Chinn. I don't know if this is satisfactory but I thought it might come in useful so I kept it. I got most of my information from Fannie Armstrong who was close friends with my mother Beverly. I hope this might help the debate? I also added my mothers birth certificates and her sisters birth certificate. As you can see Winnie did go by Winnie and Catherine. I'm still scratching my head though. Attachments:

I looked at both birth certificates for my mother and noticed that one has her name as Beverly DANA Flute and the other has Beverly ROBERTA Flute. I'm assuming the Dana was a misprint and they corrected it but not sure.

valari: thanks so much for clearing up the puzzle I had re. who was winnie's father. My records on her had question marks. Now I can erase and update the record. talk about names misrecorded on birth certificates, my Dad is Greek and he pronounced it with a ch in my first name. the recorder butchered my name on my birth certificate.i had to go to court toget it corrected. once you get used to the laptop, you will love it. I have 2 of them.

Oh yay for me!! I finally got one part of the puzzle fixed then!! At least where the question of her paternity is concerned. I would have never known if I hadn't done a free trial with ancestry.com!! Glad I could help you since you have helped me with so much information hermin1!!
My parents actually had to do that with me to. The person wrote down my name as Valerie but it was actually Valari. Pronounced Va Larry. Sheesh.
I really hope that I can get used to this laptop. I dont do well with change. Lol.

Is there any information regarding Alexander Culbertsons second wife Medicine Snake Woman? I read on various sites that her name was also Sacred snake Woman, Natoyist-siksina, Iksana, and Natawista. I'm trying to piece together who is Julia Culbertson's mother. I have someone named mahpiya He Zi Win or yellow mount?

valeri: Daniel Weston's parents were Hoksioduta and Tasinawin both dec'd. John S. Flute wed Hortense on 3 Aug. 1884 at Flandreau. Giles flute and Winnie Hillers were wed 19 Nov. 1931 at Flandreau. mike Denney's web site, mdenney.proboards.com has the iapi oya alphebitzed listings of baptisms, marriages and burials if you're interested. I am not sure which section they are under so you'll have to search.
