What I have on this family is incomplete and I am still working on connecting the individuals. Most of the information out there is not correct as far as dates for this family. I have just gotten a hold of additional information but have not compiled it to make this family more correct but I will share with you what I currently have and when things change I will post The following is the only information I have had to work with and much of it is incorrect as I will explain: Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usAnd just most recently, I purchased a book entitled 8th Landing: The Yankton Sioux Meet Lewis and Clark by Mary Eisenman Carson. But, even her info is not correct but a little better than what is above: Uploaded with ImageShack.usForked Horn was born abt 1817 and is found on the earliest Yankton census. Uploaded with ImageShack.usVisiting Walking People Woman is married to Kills/Killed by the Thunder. She is born abt 1835 and d. 4 May 1919 Uploaded with ImageShack.usFor additional reference see the Fr Dan Madlon's Honore Picotte trees posted on this site and follow instructions on getting them printed out on 11 1/2 X 17 paper. I hope this helps you a bit. It has taken me a long time to try and work with this skimpy information to try to find all the right connections. Hopefully, within the next year I will have them all connected accordingly. Hinhangi-Brown Owl aka John Brown Owl, b. 1824 is also found on the Yankton census. He is married to Niyataninwin, b. 1833 Askeota means Many Hair Tufts--have not found any docs on this one. Winyanduta/Dutawin-Red Woman was married to Sitting Bull and one of his favorite wives. It is said she died but I am not so sure about that. She had a son who died in the battle of the greasy grass when he was kicked in the head by a horse. I have found conflicting sources as to who the mother of Wm Bean , Chief Blue Cloud is. Anyway that is it for now on this subject. It is late and I am getting a little light headed. So more later and I am happy to answer any questions that I can. Lavanah
