Sun shine!
testimoney Rev Paul Mazakute: 1868 i went out east in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and Massachusette. Paul has 5 children 4 Boys and 1 girl. 1862 i made my christian vows. for seven years i was a catechist and for five years i have been a minister. one year a decon. Paul went to the yankton rez to do his work. paul baptized 64 people and married 8 persons, holy communion on seven diffrent occaions.
Pauls family he said that there was seven children in all 3 boys and 4 gilrs all were older than him.
Paul said his mother died 19 years ago my father died a long time ago.
Paul said that all his brothers and sisters died with out faith but one lived to hear the word of life, said he did a short time ago.
at the time Paul gave his testimonie he was the age of 31 and he was born in Minnesota the town of Wapaxa now stands ans i was born june 1842
Paul never gave the names of his brothers and sister, just what i wrote from his own words. Paul followed Hinman around and he was the one that translated Pauls words from Dakota to english. it was also said that Hinman had lost all his paper work twice in his journys.
my mission is to find my family. sunshine glade that we found each other now have to find more of the family.
i hope this helped out some in your search as well?
keep in touch. Kermit

i am coming to santee next week. is it possible to me with you? i would like very much to chat with yoy in person if that is possible? i will have my cell phone and you could call me if that is possible. my number is 1-605-365-6864. i will be in santee on Sunday and will be there until Thursday, of next week.
i want to start a probate for the following people, Paul Mazakute, his wife Margaret, Maggie Mazakute,Whipple and there daughter Rebecca Mazakute Frazier. the NARA said they have no information on them and they said they probably did not have a probate done on them.

kermit:As Maggie Hoffman(panna) remarried to Benjamin Whipple, it would be wise to contact NARA and seeif they have the Heirship Report on Benjamin Whipple( probate #389-41334-11). It will contain information on his wives, including Maggie orMargaret Mazakute. and may have some clues as to what happened to Paul's land.Paul's only surviving relatives were his daughter Rebecca and margaret(maggie). Rebecca's information is in with Lot Frazier's probate(#38-56682-34).Also get Lot Frazier's heirship Report as well. Joshua Mazakute( prb. #393-4680-07and his brother Mark(pro.396--18256-07) will also tell you what happened to Paul's land. maggie and Rebecca's estates were included with their last spouse's heirships.
I won't be able to visit with you in person,as I have prior appointments next week. But I will call youlater today. So have your papers handy so we can dicuss them. would it be too much trouble for you to send also a copy of the probate on that mazakininwinna so I can comp[are it with what I have?

Hello Herman1.....I've found a few years ago while researching Joseph Jack Frazier..another family tree at Ancestry...listing another wife and her side of the family of Joseph Jack Frazier...she was either a half Breed or 1/4 Indian blood...her name was Jane Powers1838 died 1872, daughter of Strange Powers and Euphrosine Pellitier Dit Antaya, Jane married Joseph Jack in 1862,Fairfault,Minn. I don't see any children..But..this is weird..Jane's mother Euphrosing had also been married to James Alexander Fraser, and had a daughter named Domitelle or Marie Domitelle Fraser,1812 died 1907..she married a Joseph Brisbeau..So Jane married her Step brother??..Anyway, I wanted to add that information , Jane was probably the Jane or Jennie who was Joseph Jacks widow during his probate hearing.. I had contacted this Ancestry member about her tree and ancestor Jane Powers Fraser...She told me she never heard of Joseph Jack Frazier ever having another wife called Margaret..which I didn't understand at the time...I thought it was because she was an Indian.. So could you please tell me where you got the information stating that Hazzodewin was the Mother of "Joseph Jack and Margaret??" Thanks so much for all your help with the Frazier family...And to Kermit..Good work and Great questions!! I'm so glad to be finally figuring out all these stories...

the Info is from James Hansen's article ,'tHE ORIGINS OF THE ROC/rOCK fAMILY OF PRAIRIE DU CHIEN AND WABASHA.The Genealogist. Vol. 11: Spring 1997, pages 3-33. it is also common knowledge among the Frazier Ancestors with whom I have had contact with. another reference is "Completing The Circle. My understanding is that this was also mentioned in Joeph jack Frazier's autobiography (Iron Face)atold to his friend henry hastings sibley.
