Hello, I am looking for information on the Frazier family of Santee, Nebraska. My grandmother was Ethel Frazier (DOB 10/15/1907), her father was Albert Frazier (m. Elizabeth Howe), and Albert's father was Artemus Ehnamani (m. Eliza Ehnamani).
Our family would like information on what band the Fraziers were from in Santee, if we are Wahpeton, Mdewakanton, Sisseton, or Wahpekute.
We would also like to know if there are any Dakota names on record for my grandmother or her siblings. The last record for a name in Dakota I have been able to find was for my grandmother's sister, Emma Frazier, whose Dakota name was Dowanhiyawin (Goes Along Singing). My grandmother's twin sister, Edna Frazier, married name Peniska, compiled A Few Great Stories of the Santee People along with Paul Robertson, published 1979.
