According to the "family lore" I am looking over the daughter "Jack" had with the daughter of Grey Iron was named Mary Ann Frazer. Mary Ann then married Jean Baptiste LaF. Rocque. This is what got me interested in Joseph Jack Frazer: Joseph Rocque (1746-1817) is the grandfather of Jean Baptiste Laframboise (quoted above). He is also the great-grandfather of Mary Ann Frazer (quoted above). I found this in the aforementioned Leo Rocque Family History which is mainly taken from James Hansen's "The Origins of the Roc/Rock Family of Prairie du Chien and Wabasha - Frontier Genealogy Among The Voyageurs," THE GENEALOGIST Spring 1997 Volume 11, No. 1 Here is how this happened: Jean Baptiste Laframboise descends from (1) Augustin Rocque (1787-1856) & Angelique a Fox/Sioux woman; next (2) from Joseph Rocque (1746-1817) and his first wife La Bleu a Mdewakanton [daughter of old Wabasha - another source] Mary Ann Frazier descends from (1) Jack Frazer and a Mdewakanton woman, probably the daughter of Grey Iron; next (2) from James/Alexander Frazer and Azo-de-win/Yahydsaw (Rocque) Frazer; next (3) from Joseph Rocque (1746-1817) and his second wife Harpiston a Mdewakanton woman [daughter of Red Wing - another source] madrock, you don't need to post in anew thread. You can keep posting here. Madrock plesse let me know your reference re. Dennis Robinson. Oh, I know do you have a copy of "Through Dakota Eyes"? See what it says about Madeleine's brother Thomas Robinson the scout and interpreter. They had the same parents. I just pulled out "Through Dakota Eyes" but I will respond by starting a new post on Joseph Rocque (1746-1817) because this interchange is drifting away from Joseph Jack Frazer. I almost forgot, the Rocque name has also been spelled as LaRoche, LaRocque, and LaRock. as well as Rock, Roc and Rocquebrune . . . His wife Madaline is also referred to as Madeleine, Madeline, Adeline and Magdalena

Getting back to Joseph Jack Frazier...I have a document that come to our attention, through another Frazier descendant, it is concerning Margaret Frazier "Waktehinhdewin"Comes Home In Triumph Woman. She is supposed to have been Joseph Jack's wife as we have always assumed..and the mother of John Jack Frazier"Hanyetuduta",Sophia Frazier "Canna", Martha Rebecca (wife of Artemus Ehnamani Frazier), James" Ehakeinagin",Lucy , and Jane "Wamnuhadan", and Tunkanmani.. But what we have assumed her to be may not have been correct according to this 1860 document from Minnesota..What are your thoughts as you read this through..I've lightened it up a bit for it was very old and dark.. Oh and on a sad note..member cwiley525 passed away Monday Feb 11th, 2013..he was another Frazier descendant..prayers go out to his family...what a great loss! Attachments:

Hermin1, Thanks..so this document was about Margaret Frazier, born about 1808, like Kermit stated, they were brother and sister not husband and wife? How interesting...I too thought that it looked like it said Mrs, but the script handwritting in those days where there were two S's, the first s was dropped down then the next s was on line.. Thanks for your reply Herman1, I think I may be convinced now..
