Hello everyone
I am in some need of advice on how to post some important documents that our historian found recently that may be of interest for a number of families........however, ....as illiterate that I am, as to posting historical documents on the site so people can either link to them, or better yet, for people to actually open and view the documents, would be so much better. But with my limited knowledge and expertise in these areas, I need your help in doing so. They really are very informative documents that many may or may not have been aware of. Personally, I feel stupid, in that so many of the kind hearts on this website, have gratuitiously offered such grand and informative documentation to us all, but I have not been able to post actual historical documents with my former posts. therefore, any help and advice on this new thread, will be greatly appreciated.
thanks again

I think that the documents first need to be scanned into your computer, then find the corresponding category, When you make a post in that category look for the upload an image spot, use the browse button, choose the file. once you have chosen the file then hit the host it button.- It will take you to image shack hosting were there will be a url link choose one of the links and BAM!!! that should cover it.....I hope .

Or, you might consider opening a free account at photobucket.com.
You would then scan your images and upload them to photobucket. Then you select the link you want to use and copy and paste it to your message here.
With photobucket you will avoid most of the pop-ups (porn and other ads) that appear with the imageshack site. You would also not have to worry about your links going bad. Many of the imageshack links here have gone bad and folks will have to do them all over again. It gets frustrating, for sure. Photobucket will walk you through the process. It is free and simple to use.
Either way, there are two good reasons for posting either the thumbnail version at imageshack or the direct link at photobucket, as opposed to the entire/large image- 1. Saves space on the board so Jamie doesn't run out 2. Folks with dial-up will still be able to navigate the board

There seems to be alot of this pop up talk here of late. At this site, I have not had any problems here or at the trudell site. i also manage my own family site and have had no problems. However i do use firefox as my browser and secured with spybot 1.6 I never have any troubles wherever i go. At the risk of running a shameless plug here is a link to my site. Mathew, your link doesn't work. Here ya go- fullergen.proboards85.com/index.cgiJust copy and paste your address. You might want to ask Jamie to put your URL in his cool little scrolling banner up on top. I'm sure he'd be happy to. Nice work on your site, by the way! It really does help to have a good pop-up blocker while surfing anywhere on the net. I've never seen an offensive ad here, but I use 2 blockers also.

mathew: YOu have a neat website.!! I scan what I want to post and save it to my hard drive as a .JPEG or JPG file. then i upload it, and select the option (I think it is the 3rd one in Image shack) that shows a thumbnail view, you click on to enlarge and then you can print it out..
