I am looking for a translation of the following names: 1. Huzizina 2. Tatenahomniwin 3. Hotankawin
They were allottees with Devil's Lake. I believe they were Henry Two Bear's grandmother (Huzizina), grandmother (Tatenahomniwin) and mother in law (Hotankawin). Their names and kinship terms were written beside the names on a corner of one of his papers.
Who were the husbands and children of these women?
Thanks

Blanche: Huzizina (Very Yellow Bone) [Hu = bone or leg; zi = yellow; Na= endearment). Tatenahomniwin (Turning the wind with the foot woman) [Tate = wind; na= foot action; homini = turn; Win=woman]. Hotankawin (Loud Voiced Woman) [Ho= voice; Tanka = big; Win=woman]. Only the last Hotankawin appears on the Spirit Lake Rolls. DLS # 959 1854 - 1897. I can't get to the Reality office until Christmas Brake. if you don't want to wait that long you could order a copy of the probate and / or a death certificate from Bismarck. Later, Louie
