I have had a long summer so far, a mild stroke in May which I have recovered, then two weeks ago I lost my son, he passed away July 12, 2009. I am here and hopfully back to help again earthw7, I was just catching up on recent posting, when I heard of your son's passing and your stroke. My heart goes out to you, can't even imagine how painful it must be for you. I pray for your continual recovery, and hope you have someone close to help you through such a loss. God bless, Dawnday

I wish you strength and healing in your year of tears. Know that you are very much appreciated and loved for all the generous things you do. warm regards, Barbara

I just received a family tree back from Standing Rock pertaining to my great great grandpa Nelson Eagle Boy. His father is listed as Mark Red Fish and his mother Hanhepisnawin. I have to inquire in another department about his probate papers.

leb49 I am so glad you have found who your ancestor's parents were. You might have to contact the National Archives in Washington and Kansas city to see about probate papers for Nelson Eagleboy. the contact in Washington is: MaryFrances.Ronan@nara.gov the contact in Kansas City is Barbara.Larsen@nara.gov You will need to give them your ancestor's name, when he/she died, and their Tribal affiliation. the NARA researchers are really swell persons and they will tell you what-if anything- they found, and you can decide if you want copies. The charge is $15 for 1 to 15 pages copied, and 75 cents per each additonal page copied. You can pay for them with your credit card, or send a check.

HERMIN: thanks for your help that you've given me here! I appreciate it immensely. Ive already contacted both women, Barbara and Mary, inquiring about probate papers. Neither was able to help me. I was pointed back to Standing Rock. That's all right. I already have the number for the department to contact, so I'm good to go! ;D
