I have all that information. BUT how do I find the cemetery/or list for Union Cemetery? Is it still there. He was Samuel R Rasicot/Roscoe. The son of Oliver Racicot and Madeline Campbell. Your direction would be appreciated. Tammy

Tammy, Union Cemetery still exists at Flandreau. There is a listing for it at Find A Grave, but I'm sure it is not a complete list of interrments there. You might want to register at Find A Grave (it's free) and add a memorial page for him at Union Cemetery. From his memorial page, request a photo. If there is a photo volunteer in that area, they will go take a picture of his marker if he has one and post it for you. www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=97774&CScn=union+&CScntry=4&CSst=44&

Guess I am getting old and a bit stupid, took me a time to find out where I should be for a reply. I do have a copy of a picture of Sam Roscoe (Racicot) But it is not real good as it is a copy. My husband is going to see his Mother (Samuel's Grandaughter) I will ask for the picture so I can post it correctly. Have to take him to Doctor right will come back here and post what the obit says. I feel bad that he died alone and I don't like it a bit.... Thanks you wonderful people. Tammy

Tammy: You are most welcome. Yes it is so sad that some of our relatives wind up being alone in their later years. My prayers go with you for your relative's recovery.

Here goes, I am going to do what Vicky suggests. At least that is a start. I have the clipping from my Mother in law [this her grandfather and my husbands Ggrandfather] It reads; Sam Roscoe, resident of Flandreau for 44 years, died last Wednesday night at his late home in the south part of the city. Funeral services were held at the Davis mortuary Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. D.K. Ford of the Second Presbyterian Church, and interment was made in Union Cemetery Roscoe, a stonemason during his active years was 77 years of age. He has been living with other aged men and though it is known he has four children, it was impossible with the meager information available to reach any of them with the news of the father's death. Can't help but want to cry. I know that he can be found on the McLaughlin Roll with two of his children [Sarah/Sadie and Clemence Roscoe] Sadie and Clemence were adopted out in October 1908 and it was Final December 1908. They were adopted by Seth and Alta Warner. I did Find Samuel living with his son Edward, I don't know what happened to his first son Raymond. But Edward did re connect with his natural sister and brother he died in Sacramento. So I guess no one was there when Samuel passed away.I have this date of death as December 18, 1940. Thank you all so much, I am a bit scattered right now. Thanks to you all it is sooooooo appreciated. I vow to do something about his marker [if he has one] don't know what yet. But working on it. Tammy

Good luck, Tammy! I hope there is a photo volunteer in the Flandreau area. I would STRONGLY encourage anyone with a camera and computer access, to sign up to be a photo volunteer for Find A Grave. This is such a rewarding past-time which costs NOTHING and brings joy to so many. For just a few minutes of your time, you can make someone happy across the country or halfway around the world. I have met many wonderful folks at that site. I have made photo requests for the Santee area which still remain unfullfilled. So, there is a need there, too. There are also requests needing to be fulfilled in the Sisseton area. Let us know if you have any success, Tammy. www.findagrave.com/
