And I will pay. Opps, I mean trade it out. Dang that sounds no better. Well now that I have your attention, heres the deal. I have found about everything I can on the Yellow Cloud- Provincials and have most of it posted on site. I lack and have reached a dead end on my sons great grand mother Dorotha Arconge- Schmidt-Yellow Cloud-Provincial. As I said I am at the end of my rope. I have 16 books that will be a help to lots of people. I will trade them for any info that I need. They are books like Old Traverse des Sioux, Little Crow, Spotted Tails people, Black Hills-White Justice, Lakota Sioux Missions- South Dakota, Crazy horse and Custer, Fifty years on the Trail, Songs of the Sioux, Lost Bird of Wounded Knee, Neither Wolf nor Dog, Winona' Web, Lakota, Crying for a Vision, A Sioux Chronicle, and Everyday Lakota Dictionary. I have donated 87 books to the Spotted Tail College and send 50 to my sons. These that I have left are the last I was working on. So, If you have time and feel that you can help, email me. rayhenry4@aol.com. I also have more that I will post. Thanks, Ray

Hi Ray, I am interested in your book "Niether Wolf nor dog." I was talking with a person at Pipestone quarry who mentioned this book. I couldn't find it until now. Would you be interested in selling it to me I don't know if I have anything that you might want to trade for. Also what is Winona' Web about? Just curious! Toksha,

To Ray; I'm wondering if the book, Old Traverse des Sioux has any info on Elizabeth Hopkins family or Amos roberts? After 60+ years of searching, I just found out last year that my great x2 grandmother was actually Sisseton from lake traverse rez and Amos and Elizabeth were her children. She married John Sayapi and lived in Waubay, S.D. after giving my great grandmother, Sophie Archambeau away. Thanks. Anything is appreciated. Also, Supposidly related to Arconges but not sure how yet...ie mabel arconge. stephanie

Hey Stephanie, I'm sure you already know this but I have- Sayapi 1887 SW land allotments #461, age 29 1887 SW census age 26 (sic), Napegikiyewin, wife age 30 @ Enemy Lake 1891 Elrod- age 32, Inez, wife age 37, Amos son age 4, Baby son age 1
Sayapi's brother was Wa wi yu tan
Who are we to look for at Traverse des Sioux? We would need the names of Sayapi's parents or his wife's, anyone circa 1840-1860.
Hermin1 and I both have this book. Unfortunately, there is no index. I have wanted to make one for ages. Might just be a good winter project!

Ray; Oh my gosh. I am interested in anything...related to my great great grandmother, Napegikiyewin. We don't know where she is buried or anything about her husband and children. I have probate records from sisseton but know nothing about these people ie, Sayapi, Roberts or Hopkins. My great grandma Sophie was born to Nape in 1874 but we do not know where. It was said that Nape was raped by George Covell and Sophie was taken to Fort Thompson around the age of 8-12 by relatives and left there. She was raised by Adam and Rebekha Ironnight at Yankton. Their daughter married a stricker. We would just like to find out anything on Nape's life and if she was connected to George Covell. We think she was given away because of her light hair, eyes, skin etc. Anything you might be able to e-mail, snail mail would be great appreciated. Thanks stephanie ssroonie@earthlink.net

Could be your women. Scararm This is an oral story in my family. That a trader by the name of Schmidt beat Alfred Clement Smith's mother (who was sister or possibly daughter of Struck by the Ree) and when her brothers found out they came and killed him and brought her back to the tribe. I would greatly appreciate it if you could post that story or tell me were I can find it. I have looked through the South Dakota Historical Collection Vol. 1 and can't seem to find it. Thanks. ________ Look in the Online book(you can download it for free) forty Years A fur Trader by larpentier. He mentions a similar situation, but I don't remember if he mentioned any names. Lavanah
