I JUST GOT A GOOD TIP FROM L. PHILBRICK,ON CHECKING FOR NAMES ON THE CENSUS A LOT OF TIMES THE NAMES ARE DIFFERENT BUT SHE LOOKS FOR THE ENROLLMENT NUMBERS, THOSE ARE AT LEAST THE SAME. EVEN IF THE NAMES ARE DIFFERENT. SHE'S BEEN A GENEALOGIST FOR YEARS, AND KNOWS A FEW TRICKS TO HELP HER FIND PEOPLE.
SO NOW I'M GOING TO GO BACK THROUGH THESE CENSUS PAPER'S FOR ENROLLMENT NUMBERS. ALTHOUGH I HAVE SOME THAT ARE HARD TO READ, I THINK IT IS WORTH THE TROUBLE. IF NOTHING ELSE I MIGHT COME UP WITH ANOTHER NAME FOR THE SAME PERSON.
THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE WHAT I JUST LEARNED. I'M SURE A LOT OF YOU MIGHT HAVE ALREADY FIGURED IT OUT, BUT I DIDN'T EVEN PAY ANY ATTENTION TO ANY NUMBERS I WAS HAVING ENOUGHT TROUBLE TRYING, TO READ THE NAMES.

I GUESS I AM WRONG ON THIS...MAYBE YOU CAN JUST LOOK UP MCLEANS ENROLLMENT NUMBER FOR MARILYN...
I WAS ONLY CONFUSED AS TO YOUR POST...AND WANTED TO CLARIFY WHAT WAS BEING SAID...AND I HAVE NOW BEEN ENLIGHTENED...
I DID NOT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYBODY...I'M SORRY IF I HAVE OFFENDED ANYBODY (ESPECIALLY DAWNDAY AND HER MOM)

DUDE! THIS IS DAWNDAY'S DAUGHTER AND YOU MUST BE WINDED. YOU NEED TO LIGHTED UP A BIT. MY MOTHER WAS ONLY TRYING TO HELP AND GIVE INFORMATION. THE ATTACHED IS A "FOR INSTANCE", THESE NUMBERS DO MATCH OUR ANCESTORS ENROLLMENT #S PER HEIRSHIP RECORDS, INDIAN PROBATES AND LAST WILL AND TESTAMENTS. OURS ARE DESIGNATED WITH A CC FOR CROW CREEK. P.S. NOBODY MESSES WITH MY MOM, THIS IS TO ENLIGHTEN YOU

MARILYN,
I'M AFRAID I AM JUST LIKE YOU, SEARCHING FOR NAMES. BUT I STARTED WITH THE BIA IN FT. THOMPSON I WAS ABLE TO GET THE INFORMATION EITHER FAXED TO ME OR YOU CAN HAVE THEM MAIL IT TO YOU.
ANY OF THESE OTHER PEOPLE HERE ON OYATE CAN HELP YOU. OR YOU CAN TRY:
1. BIA OFFICE FOR HELP( WHERE EVER YOU ARE ENROLLED) 2. FAMILY SEARCH.ORG 3. ANCESTOR HUNT.COM 4. ROOTSWEB.ANCESTRY.COM 5. FREE- SEARCH FROR ANCESTORS.COM 6. ANCESTORS.COM
THESE ARE A FEW THAT I JUST GOOGLED, SOME ARE FREE
MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN SEARCHING HER ANCESTORS FOR 15 YRS. THROUGH OTHER MEANS, SUCH AS HAVE LISTED ABOVE.
I MYSELF CALLED THE BIA IN FT. THOMPSON, AND WAS ABLE TO GET SOME OF MY HEIRSHIP PAPERS ALREADY HAD SOME SINCE MY FATHER AND GRANDMOTHER DIED SOME TIME AGO., I SAVED THEM I ALSO HAD LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT PAPERS. AND I ASKED FOR ANYTHING THEY WOULD SHARE WITH ME IN THE FILES. BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING MY ANCESTRY BEFORE THE MINNESOTA CLAIM STARTED. BEFORE THE BIA GOT SO BUSY WITH REQUESTS.
MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN ABLE TO GO BACK TO 1600 ON HER FATHER'S SIDE MY EX-HUSBAND. BUT SHE HAD TO PAY FOR THAT INFORMATION. I WOULD ASK HER BUT SHE DOESN'T HAVE TIME RIGHT NOW , BARELY ENOUGH TO GET A FEW HOURS SLEEP AND PUT IN ANOTHER DAYS WORK OF BETWEEN 8 TO 14 HRS. A DAY. SHE IS SALARIED. SO SHE IS THERE UNTIL THE WORK IS COMPLETED, NO OVER TIME PAY FOR HER. SHE IS A FINANCIAL CONTROLLER FOR A LARGE HILTON HOTEL. SO I TRY NOT TO BOTHER HER.
IT TAKES A LOT OF HOURS AND PATIENCE, TRACING YOUR ANCESTRY. AND WE STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN THAT FAR WITH MY SIDE OF THE FAMILY.
I HOPED ON OYATE THERE MIGHT BE A RELATIVE OUT THERE WITH INFORMATION THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET THUS FAR. I'M SURE JON OR ONE OF THE OTHER PEOPLE ON OYATE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR QUEST.
I WILL GIVE LYNDA PHILBRICK THE NAMES YOU LISTED AND SEE IF SHE CAN HELP. IF SHE CAN BE OF HELP . I WILL POST IT ON THIS SITE.
I DID TAKE PRIDE IN BEING ARTICULATE, BUT APPARENTLY I DIDN'T MAKE MYSELF CRYSTAL CLEAR. HOPE I WAS SOME HELP.
DAWNDAY.
