Thanks for replying Hermin1. Part of the heirship papers deal with Edward Eastman being an adopted son of Hdonicewin. I wonder if Cannapesa isn't connected to Edward Eastman some how.........just a thought. Judy

judy: what you need to do is figure out what hisname translates to and thengo from there. I suggest you contact Louie Garcia by PM and ask his help withthe name.i did find her living with her son-in-law james thompason, and his Steep-daughter Emma thompson(age 14) in the 1884 Santee Census. In the 1887 Santee Census, she was back with Thomas Wabashaw.
______________ Emma was the daughter of jesse james's brother Frank James, he used the alias James thompson. Her sister magie had Joseph Chase with Frank's brother Jesse James, who used the alias jesse J. Chase . both outlaw brothers were hiding out at the Santee Res. when they had the affairs with the two Wapahasha girls. I believe Frank also had a liaison with another Santee woman and fathered a child with her.

Yes, this is true. I traveled to Arkansas years ago to spend a couple of days with Grace. She accepted me with a good heart and in the time that we spent with her, she allowed me to print many legal documents of this family link to the James brothers. She also gave me a transcript that was put together by the nurse of Jesse James that is just a little over 300 pages long. It describes all of the events that Jesse James told his nurse, who wrote them down. A fascinating read. Good luck with the stories too, they are the meat of our history.

I'd love to read these pages, anyway you can share them with us...I've heard many stores of his exploits and who he was related to...Dawnday
