You need to be more specific in re. to your request.I know that there are no Bacons on the 1884,85,87,90,and 1902 Censuses for Santee. Please provide names and dates if you have them.

Jimmy and Mathew: I found Ira Bacon born May 29,1889,( correction: 1888) Platte( addition: Platted Center,Platte county),NE. His father was born in England, and his mother was born in Nebraska. His wife's name was leta Bacon. Her parents were both born in Iowa, she was born in NE. Both Frank's parents were white. Frank Bacon was 2 yrs.old in the 1910 census I looked at. (References: WWI Draft registration Card, and the 1910 US Census for[correction; should be Ericson,Wheeler, Ne} Frank had at least a sister named Martha Bacon, born @1918(Ref. 1930 US Census, Santee,Knox,NE). I wasn't able to find out anymore. There are bookoo Bacons living in Nebraska back then: There is a Francis Bacon born 1909 and died 1969 in San Diego California. His father was Edward Bacon, and he had bunch of siblings. don't remember who his mother was or where she was born. There is an Ira Bacon born 1879 in NE and his father was George Bacon, born in KY, and His mother, I think was born in Pennsylvania, and he had siblings. that is what I was able to come up with so far.. You have to remember, the regular US Census only goes to 1930.
Addition: I was able to find a 1920 US census for Knox ,NE which showed ira and leta still listed with just Frank, and he was 12 years old then.

In re. to the above informtion, did i get the right Frank bacon? if not then yu need to let me know.
I checked out the Knox county GenWeb, and got Bacons ,but no t theright Ira, or anything on Frank bacon. I would suggest,if you live in Knox county, you might try the Knos county courthouse. See if Ira and/or Frank had any land, because he would have been paying taxes on it.You also might see if the Santee Library has the Polk City directories. Look through them for your Bacon relatives, as they list people alphabetically , and give their names, addresses, who else is in the household, and their telephone number. then ,at the libray, see if they have an obituary Index, that yu can check for your Bacons.Youmight also check the Old telephone directories at the library(I am assuming they have back issues). You also might try your Trudell relatives and see what they have to say about the Bacons.

don't worry about a thing my little chickadee.i hve websites that will help me track his fther back to england. Now you need to tell me ,if you can, the names of Ira's brothers. if Frank was born in 1908,;llet us say, then Ira and Leta may have gotten married in Knox County around 1906-1907, or somewhere in the Eastern part of Nebraska. You can also check Knox county Courthouse at center for Frank's birth Certificate.since hewas born @1908. doyou know when Ira Bacon died, and where? Oneof my census websites does not have the 1900 Knox County ,NE Census. Iwanted tocheck and see what I could find on Ira's family. the 1890 Census was burned.

if Ira Was born in 1888, and he had three brothers, one census to look at wold be the 1885 Nebraska State Census , if it exists, for Platte County,NE and the 1880 US Census for Platte County,NE. I have a gut hunch that FrankL. Bacon was born in Wheeler county,NE, so that iswhere you should look for a marriage record for ira and leta. I found leta buried with other acons inthe amity,Yamhill Cemetery ,ORegon, but nolisting for ira, though soc. Sec. Death Index hashim dying in amity,Yamhill,OR.

i checcked out the Wheeler CountyNE GenWeb and found that their county courthouse burned down in 1917, and the birthand Death records prior to that year were all destroyed. the coordinator said that you will have to contact the State Dept. in Lincoln to get a copy of the records. i have gone as far as I can, and the rest is up to yu.

Just when i think I have hit a brick wall, my frineds help me out. thanks Vicky for your input. the only Baconsthat could have been ira Bacon's parents wer Eugene Bcon and his wife Jane. Eugene's parents were listed as born in New York, Jane listed that she and her parent were listed as born in Indiana. The other children in the family were Charles, William ,Edward, and Ruthie Bacon.(1880 and 1900 US Census Platte Center Village, Lost creek Twp, Platte County, NE). I found Ira at age 12, working as a servant in the Robert Kanuse household in Grand prairie Twp, Platte,NE. Jane does not appear in the 1900 Us Census just mentioned. she does not appear in any other censuses after 1900 either.
Eugene in 1920 was listed as father, and living with his son Charles and his family in thesame place as the previous above mentined censuses.
In 1930, Eugene is age 72(corretion: he was in his 60's) and a patient in the State Hospital at Norfolk. ______________________ Eugene listed his birth date as Sept. of 1855 or 1856(I couldn't make out the last digit) in the 1900 Census mentioned earlier. His parents appear to be David Bacon born 1828 in Scott, NY, and mother Ruth House also born 1828 in NY. They were married in 1855 at Westfield,Chattagua,NY. Ruth died in 1894. their children were Eugene , Addie born @1858 NY, Eva born @1863 NY, Elmer born @ 1864 NY, and Ernest born @1870 NY.(Ref. Historical records, ancestry.com, and LDS Archives,Provo Utah).

As to why Ira listed his parents birth place as he did on that 1910 Census, I do not know .

mathew: You can order adeth certificates for both ira and his wife leta from the State of oregon. My source tells me they cost @ $20.00 each, and usually contain thenames of the deceased parents. The website that you can log on to to order a death /birth certificate is: www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/chs/order/faqs.htmlYou will have to type the address into your browser.

I remember a BACON family who lived in Niobrara. They lived in a 1 floor brown shingled house, across the street from the Clinic. The girl was about Ben's age (grade school) when I was a senior, so I do not remember her name...
