I am looking for any descendants of John Wilson, who was born about 1835 in Minnesota. He had three daughters that survived to adulthood. Two of them I am looking for descendants of. Their names were Julia Rogers (married to Joseph Rogers). Joseph was a well-known Presbyterian minister in the early 1900's, in South Dakota, and Ft. Peck, Mt. The other one was Ellen Jones, I think her husbands name was Howard. I am related to the youngest, Esther. I've been reading that the Rogers had I think 5 children, but I am thinking none of their children survived to adulthood, so there may not be any descendants from this line. The Jones line though, may have descendants. They stayed in the Flandreau, S.D. area as far as I know. If anybody is related to Ellen (Wilson) Jones, or Julia (Wilson) Rogers, I would very much like to get ahold of you to share family history!! Please send me an e-mail. Ellen and Julia were born in the 1860's, or thereabouts. Thanks All! Lori_WalkingEagle@hotmail.com

I have a John Wilson in my files. he was married at least twice. with his spouse Sarah, I found the following children I found on the Censuses were Ada, Julia, Ellen, Esther, Peter. and i also have listed,a daughter( name unknown) by his first spouse. Julia and Rev. Joseph Rogers had at least 12 children. Most of the children died in infancy. None of the remaining children survived their parents. Joseph was married twice. His secod spouse was Esther Greeley.

Thanks for that, do you know which census you see Ada and Peter on? I don't know of an Ada, and Peter was married to Esther. This sounds like my John Wilson (aka Tatecanhpi) Thanks for looking that up for me. I knew Joseph Rogers remarried after Julia passed. He has a rather large headstone at the Flandreau cemetary with Julia and his pictures on it, but he's not buried there! His second wife had him buried where she's from I heard. Do you know where that might be? Sisseton maybe?

Lori: here at the link below is some excerpts from Rev. Joseph rogers autobiography. www.flandreau.k12.sd.us/eldersspeak/Web%20Html/Santee_htm/joseph_rogers.htmI believe the Flandreau Museum may have a family file on him. I have not been able to find anything at Ancestry for his wife Julia Wilson. julia had an aunt, Cecelia Stafford of sisseton who testified at the estate hearing for Rev. Rogers.
