Hi ~ I went to DC this last summer. When I asked for "probate" papers, they acted like they didn't know what I was asking for. I then found information called "heirship papers". These were the actual probates that the BIA has. So, they do have the probates for all tribes in South Dakota. ~ Hawkgirl

Does DC have a telephone number? lol.. or can somebody give me an address that goes directly there? So they are called heirship papers huh. hmm

Mary is a very nice person to work with she will find your search then email you info if you want to purchase them. They are costly but well worth it since the B.I.A. doesn't want to give out copies. Tamara, Hermin, Vicky; I googled Tamahpiyahotanka and our site poped up. I am replying to a discussion from 2006. There was a man by this named suppositly killed at the battle of woodlake in 1862. The only other person I knew of who had this name was Edward Robertson, The Veblin VFW is named after him. I would appreciate any information. Another note: at the top of this thread is a list of names. Suna Waanatan (itkowicakipi (He met them) is the son of Waanatan 2, on the list above him is Caske Waanatan an adoped son of Waanatan, both are Spirit Lake enrollees. Louie Garcia
