My information is that Philander Prescott- if this is who you are talking about-and his Indian spouse adopted Louis Dumarce, after his father Francoise died before 1855. Mrs Prescott was Louis's Aunt. Her sister was the spouse of Francois Dumarce.
Joseph Chapman's spouse was Sarah Doane not Sarah Dumarce.

do you have any documentation to show that these two girls were adopted by the Prescotts?
