Since I got no response from my September inquiry, I have done additional research. My gr gr aunt Close Charging Eagle married Frank Feather (Ear Ring) & had several children. Mary Feather married Oscar Long Soldier, they had children: Virginia, Levi, Raymond, Emily, Lucy & Arnold. After Mary was widowed she then married Henry Bull Bear. John Feather married 1st wife Fannie & had children: Sadie & Mabel. John married 2nd wife Sarah & had child: Moses. John then married 3rd wife Rosa & had children: Floyd & Daniel. This wife had a daughter by the name of Ida Iron Crow. Paul Feather married Susie & had children: Gilbert & Emily. William married Mary (widow). Mary had children from a previous marriage by the names of Casey, Dawson & Stephen Conquering Bear. I would like to correspond with anyone that has information on this ancestry.

Sure! I will only include birthdates for Close & Frank Feather's (Ear Ring) grandchildren that lived long enough to possibly marry. It is obvious, after much research, that there was a high mortality rate at Pine Ridge during this time period! Frank died of tuberculosis in 1927 at the age of 68, Close lived to be almost 90 & died in 1954. Long Soldiers: Levi born 1914, Raymond born 1916, Emily born 1918, Lucy born 1921. Children of John Feather: Floyd born 1932. Children of Paul Feather: Gilbert born 1914, Emily born 1915. I do know that Close Feather (Ear Ring) had a great grandson by the name of Curtis Bear Robe. Surely there is a descendant that is interested in family research. I have so much info to share.

Yes, I would like to find a descendant of my gr gr aunt Close Charging Eagle that married Frank Feather (Ear Ring). I have Indian census records for them from 1887-1927. On the census records, Frank's last name was always just Feather. I have Close listed on my gr gr gr grandfather Charging Eagle's Title Status Report as Close-Charging Eagle-Feather (or Feather Earring) Yellow Thunder. She did marry a widower named Thomas Yellow Thunder in her old age after her husband Frank died. I also found old school records where some of their grandchildren went by the last name of Feather Ear Ring. I also have a photcopy of a Sioux Personal Property Claim by Mrs. Close Feather as Heir & the Claimant as Feather Ear Ring. This claim proves that Frank Feather was one of warriors that surrendered with Crazy Horse.

PS There was another Feather Ear Ring during this time period that was younger than Frank & could possibly have been a brother. His descendants would not be direct descendants of my aunt.
