Dear Fellow Researchers:
I need your help in finding information on Scarlet Plume and his family.
all I have on him is that he was a sub-chief of oneof the sisseton Bands.
One of his sons was Jacob Eastman.and that Victor Renville married 3 of Scarlet lume's daughters. although, I have not found anything to document the latter piece of information.

Well, John H. Rouse and Mary Whirling Earth are my ggg grandparents. What would you like to know? Harry A. their son, Harry Stephen, their grandson was my grandfather who married Adelle Eastman. Thanks for answering Antap2,is Marys name Wakan ka hominee , or ,ica homniwin?I have Eunice Hare's probate and George Rouse's Report on Heirship. The last page in Eunice's probate is a handwritten paper with (Turning Rock) as George's Mother .That translation is close to a couple that I have heard. On George's Report it also has his mother as Turning Rock. Are we talking about the same person?

Scarlet Plume was on one of the Deloria Probates, but Im sure it stated he was a grandson, I also would like to know more. I guess I didn't know he was a sub-chief of one of the Sisseton Bands or even who his son's were.

What little I have on Scarlet Plume is: I found that his spouse's name was mary Ihankatowanwin at www.accessgenealogy.com in their Native american section. Was he married more than once?His nephew was Gabriel Renville s/o Victor Renville and Winona. According to Access Genealogy, Gabriel married 3 of Scarlet Plume's daughters. One of gabriel's wives was Mary G. Mintankuwin(sp.)or Tankanwaniwin. b. 1829, d. 1897. the 2nd dauhter of Scarlet Plume married Gabriel . She died 1890, and the third daughter b. 1892, died 7 May 1916. One of these daughters had a daughter named Mazawin and was married to Waanatan !. That is the one whose mother 's name I need to know. but i also need to know as I mentioned above, if Scarlet Plume had more than one wife, and how many sons, besides Jacob Eastman, and how many daughters total did he have with his wive(s)daughters he had, and what were their names. scarlet Plume's The other |

Scarlet Plume was Jacob Eastman's grandfather, Shakes the Earth was his father according to my research...
Sits in the Sunset was Jacob's mother.

Scarlet Plume and Black Plume are two people I would also like some help with, those two names may be connected, but would like some help with either name, Im following the posts and Jacob Eastman is a son to Scarlet Plume?

I made a mistake when I said Scarlet Plume was on one of the Deloria Probates, the names that are on the Deloria Probates are Black Plume and Bear Paw, does anyone have info on those two names? Thanks
