Helping a friend look for family information. She was adopted out and has recently found out her mother was Virginia Hawk., enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Tribe. Virginia's parents were Felix Hawk-Cheyenne River; mother was Julia Bear Flying Over the Water; Oglala. Any information will be helpful, we don't know if there were siblings or not.
This would make a wonderful Christmas present if she was able to locate family.

Sara, I looked Felix Hawk up on Ancestry and he is married to a Julia and his mother is Virginia. I might have wrong infor, will check with source tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

I don't know if it will help, but alsotry www.familysearch.org and see if they may have something on him. Update: I tried family search. No hits on felix Hawk. but felix's father was Oscar hawk.and he had a brother william Hawk. |

check in either Dupree of Cherry Creek SD. I asked around and there is a bear flying over water who's mother is julia.
