I have letters of testimony of inheritance by Susan Mc Bride and William Carpenter In that I received an inheritance from them thru lucy Carpenter same as listed: Father: King or Wicasayatapi Mother( hard to read) Marpiyadinajitopawin or Cloud that stops 4 times this was on legal papers of my inheritance directly thru my grandmother Rosa Carpenter Jeunesse Day Chase died 9-1-71 Lucy Carpenter: married 3 times- 1st Charlie Carpenter died before only child Wm. Carpenter was born 2nd High Bear two girls were born (l)Susan Carpenter McBride) (2) Red Girl died l7 or 18 yrs. old in child birth child did not survive after separated to High Bear she lived with another Tribe in Minnesota around 1874 date? testimony of wm. carpenter and susan McBride 3rd husband Yellow Thigh had girl named Annie died at 2 or 3 yrs old Yellow Thigh died at Cheyenne Agency lucy had nine sisters and brothers: yellowman, 2 brothers died in battle, Winona died,Tipsina died at 6 yrs old, lived Visible Lightning orLightning Woman nieces and nephews: Winona had 2 girls Pretty Day and Stands 4 Times, boys Long Crow and Jay Carpenter from Tipsina ? I HAVE GOTTEN SO SIDE TRACKED BY OTHER GENEALOGY ON OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, I'VE LOST MY MAIN FOCUS ON CLOUD THAT STOPS 4 TIMES AND KING WICASAYATAPI.
HARD TO STAY FOCUSED ON ONE OR ANOTHER, ANYWAY THE STORY I HEARD OF CLOUD THAT STOPS 4 TIMES, ( LIVING WITH WHITE PEOPLE IN MINNESOTA AFTER HER HUSBAND KING WAS SUPPOSEDLY HUNG AS ONE OF THE MEN IN THE UPRISING) KEEPING THAT IN MIND AND AS YOU SAID THE WHITE PEOPLE SHE STAYED WITH'S NAME MIGHT HAVE BEEN CARPENTER--HENCE THE NAME LUCY CARPENTER, HER SISTER EMMA LIGHTNING WOMAN SEEMS TO HAVE KEPT HER INDIAN NAME.
DESPI, SUGGESTED I SEARCH THROUGH THE CITY DIRECTORIES IN MINNESOTA FOR A WHITE FAMILY NAMED CARPENTER DURING OR AFTER THE UPRISING. JON, HAVE YOU TRIED THAT APPROACH. LET ME KNOW BEFORE I GET INTO ANY MORE. I HATE TO BOTHER DESPI AGAIN, IF YOU'VE ALREADY SEARCHED THAT END. IF SO WHAT DID YOU FIND?

HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOUR FATHER. HAVE YOU HAD ANY TIME TO DO ANY RESEARCH.
WE ALL NEED TO KEEP THE SEARCH GOING, MAYBE TRY TO SEARCH DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. SO WE AREN'T RESEARCHING THE SAME THING.
