Have you tried the Sisseton Archives? They are located next to the Sisseton Wahpeton College at Agency Village. Sara

Mona
Good to "see" you still working. I am coming to pierre this weekend and am hoping to get to sisseton on sunday. This is the Sisseton Arcive number 742-1111 and the ladys name is Aloma Mc Gaa. I need to warn you about her tho. She is very knowledgable and an interesting person and everytime I go there, I later realize I didnt get the information I was looking for! lol She does have microfilm and a viewer that prints but I dont know exactly what film she has. I have wanted to obtain a list of microfilm from her so that I can try to aquire some that are not there. I did get to meet Virginia Hanson in Pierre and she mentioned you. She is fantastic.. oh and I would love to have her job, but wouldnt be able to do all that she does. I consider her a great resource! lol I am going to try to itemize the documents I have soon and that might be helpful to myself and others. I also met a man with the last name Simon who was researching for Hapistina for another family. I could see where you family was in his notes. He did great work on it all and even had a very very old sisseton roll... 1847 I think. I have seen some things with the name mahpiya nanji lately... but I will need to backtrack and see what I saw

I know what you mean Tamara about Aloma, we talked for a few hours one day there and I only looked at a small bit of the trials on microfilm. But I know they have Census records for Sisseton but not sure what years. Aloma did let me copy some files that they had on the 38. Those were the baptisms and other things from 1862/63. I posted all that on here after I got them from her.
Mona I would love copies of what you have. I looked on the Sisseton Wahpeton Allotment list and find these names.... Marpiyaakandhdinajin 213-735 Marpiyaakanhdinajinwin 386-902 Marpiyahdinajin (Margertie Makarota) 221-983
But I do not see these names on the Sisseton Wahpeton Census for 1887.
