Sandy Hi, This is exciting I hope you can help make some headway with my family. We think Mary Tasinahotewin was married more than once. She Married Francois Langer Longie My ggg grandmother was Rosella sp? born ab1852 Langer (Miller). I have found lnad patent for Tashinahotewin which was at greenwood and around daunte. I have never found Mary Tashinahotewin anywhere but at chuch Hill.

I couldn't find anything on Tashinahotowin(sp) other than she married Francoise Langer/Longie, and their descendants. Rosella's name is spelled Rozilla I think. I found myinformation by going to www.rootsweb.com,selecting the World Project Connect link, and then iI typed in anton Langer. whe I saw his listing in the trees psoted,. I clicked on it. then I selected the Index and looked for Francoise and Tashinahotowin. someone has relly done a beautifuljob on the Longie/Langer family tree.

This is also my brother-in-law's family on his grandmother's side. Her name is Emma Longie. I just posted a request for information on Frank Longie but I was spelling it Longee. I have noticed it's also spelled Langer. My brother-in-law's aunt said there a Rosalie LaVallee but there are variations because the answer to my post called her Vallee. There's a Francois and a Frank Jr. and my brother-in-law's grandfather, Joseph, is Frank Jr. The family moved to Ft. Peck after the Sioux Uprising. I'm still not really clear because it's a complicated family history but e-mail me and I'll tell you who has all the family probate papers. vmarier

That didn't make any sense -- Joseph is Frank's brother. So what did you want to know? Tasinahotewin's children or husbands? vmarier

I told my brother-in-law and he would like to know how to contact Hill Church and request a Baptismal certificate. He's very excited because they didn't know anyone before Frank Jr. vmarier

sandyh and vmarier: there are 3 or 4tasinahotewins: the one who married the Jondreau fellow, the one who married Frank Langer/Langie a Tasinhotewin who lived and died up at the Devil laks reservation and the one who married James Redwing of Santee.
I have been trying to find out what happened to tasinahotewin after the 1855-56 Mixed blood list was compiled. it is like she dropped off the face of the earth after 1857. she doesn't show up at Fort Snelling after the uprising. Tasinahotewin was born @1824. check the ages with your Tasinhotewin and see if they jive within 5-10 years. if the ages don't agree, then she is not the one you are looking for, I don't think. I would very much like to recieve any information you have the Tasinahotewinand Frank Jondreau you have. My Email is dakounas@yahoo.com
