Hey everyone at Oyate Exchange> You have all been so helpful to me in previous requests that here I am again with another brainteaser. I am interested in finding information on John Henry
Birth year 1876 on the 1880 census he was in Moody County, SD
The Moody Dakota Territory Census roll T9_114; Family History Film: 1254114; Page: 13.1000; Enumeration District: 38; Image:
Do any of you have access to that census??
What I need to know is his family background...mother, father, wife, children, etc. Maybe even a baptismal record. I am going searching in the baptismal records right now and see if I can find anything. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to the John Henry that is the son of John Kawing Henry and Mary Itokleywing Henry? If so I have some back ground on his parents and their parents but I did not research out his wife(s) and children.

John Kawinge Henry was born @ 1839, so I doubt that he was the one you saw on that Census for Moody,SD. You must be looking for John C. Henry whowas born @1873. John C. was married to Lucy Lovejoy. Their children were Victoria Henry and Isaac Henry.

As you mentioned seeing this John Henry on the 1880 Census for flandreau,Moody,SD: who else was listed with him?

Here is the info I have on this John Henry. There is no middle initial on the census. However, there are dates. He is in the family of Issac Dion -dob 1866, wife-Hattie-dob1869, children Alfred-son-dob-1888, Samuel-son-dob-1891, William-son-dob-1899, and John Henry-Father-In-Law dob1836-64 yrs old. It looks like this came from the 1900 census.
I seen on the baptismal records that Hatties father is John Williams not John Henry so that couldn't be her dad. But I dont have any background on Issac.
Can anyone help me with Issac's background

By the way that census was not Moody County - I think it was a 1900 federal census
I could use any info on John Kawinge Henry and/or Issac

In 1900 Santee census John Kawing Henry is living with his wife Mary and mother in law Julia. The one you list could be his son but I do not have list of their sons children. Could you double check the year of the census you have. The birth date would seem to fit more to John Kawing and not his son.

John Kawing's parents are George Huntkatanka Henry and Miniyosnasnawin. I have not been able to find you who there parents are.
George and Minyosnasnawin's children are: Sophia - 1828, Kate Jones- 1826 and John Kawing - 1823.
