You had better really cross your fingers hard. Just kidding. There are several BLue Clouds . One I am very familiar with is mentioned in the Book Lac Que Parle: Its Misionaries, Traders and Indians. This Blue Cloud was a member of the Brush Village.

Major Jonathan Bean married Skuyawin (Sweetwoman) a pretty yankton belle. ... Bean's marriage to Sweet Woman ended unhappily and he moved away. he left his infant son, Blue Cloud, in teh care of the boys uncle Hejate (Forked Horn)

when the boy reached shcool age, Hejate sendt him to rejoin Major Bean in St Louis, Missouri. Not much is known of Blue Cloud's early days but in later years, he often told the story of his decision to leave St Louis....
Mahpiyato never went back to live in St louis, preferring the roaming life of interpreter and guide for Fr Pierre jean DeSmet, SJ Years later, Maphiyato settled with his wife louise Dickson, on the Yankton Reservaton . The marriage did not last however and William later married Mary Itewastewin

I saw this name and Mr. Darryl Drapeaux and I work together here at Indian Health Service Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. I forwarded the list of names (above) and his response is below:

I recognize J.O. Drappeau and Winifred Keeler. Those were my father’s parents. My father’s name is Richard Dennis Drapeaux, he passed away 4/7/2000. Funny they have the name spelled “Drappeau” as I do not think they ever used that version. They also do not have Richard listed but I think Richard was their firstborn to Joseph Drapeaux and Winifred Keeler (Drapeaux). I only met my grandfather Joe once. He lived in Davenport, IA. Like I said, he had about three wives over his life time and about 20+ children. Let me know if you find out any more. Thanks.

This is 1880 Census around Greenwood SD.

Mother Louise Collins I have records of her as being Louise Bean. before she wed John Collins, also a daughter of John and Louise Collins was Julia Primeaux Collins. I wonder why Julia was listed as Julia Primeaux Collins, was Louise originally Louise Primoux?

We have Mahpiyato in our family tree also.
