was wondering if anyone could help with this one. I know there are alot of Azure names on the list of people that were certified, someone think you could help with this one? I cant seem to get to where I want to try to get the info I need to link this one.

Antoine Azure #3 B 1889 D 6-4-1948 is listed on the May 24, 1940membership roll of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Tribe as Being of 1/2 degree of Indian blood His roll number is #304-240

For right now, I would suggest you get the book Through Dakota eyes and read the narrative by Francis/Frank Jetis Stay,Jr. He mentions the Azures,zI believe Moses and his wife as the Metis Couple he and his sister Josephine(later Mrs. August Frenier) was left with by his mother for safekeeping during the 1862 Uprising, after their father Frank Stay Sr. deserted them and went to one of the forts( I think it was Fort Ridgeley) near Lower Sioux Agency.
