My grandmother was a Bull Ghost. I never heard of anyone having this name so I assumed that the name had died. Her name was Bessie Bull Ghost. She was married to Herbert/Albert Antelope. My father's name was Benjamin Antelope. He had one sister, Marie Antelope who married Gilbert White Temple. He also had one brother, Ambrose Antelope. They are all deceased. My name is Verlys Marie Antelope. Marie and Ambrose also have children.

What band were the Bull Ghosts from? I never knew anything about her. She died when my father was nine years old. His older sister Marie raised him with her children. vmarier

The US Censuses now published only go to 1930. The 1940 US Census should be coming out in the next year or so. that is why I couldn't track Benjamin Antelope past 1930 in the Censuses.the only Antelope that I sa with any connections to Minnesota were Simon Antelope and his wife Sophie. simon's father was born in Minn., Sophie's parents were both born in Minn.

Noble Antelope died as a child. Herbert Antelope died in 1952 before I was born in October. Mary is actually Marie and she died in the 1990's. She married Gilbert White Temple and they had four children: Allen, Eunice, Emmett and Jeannie. Emmett is currently living outside of McLaughlin and He is married to Lillian (Good Iron). Their phone number is listed in McLaughlin as Emmett and Lillian White Temple. Allen is living in Mandan or Ft. Yates. Eunice was married to Bud Gipp. They are both deceased. Their children are Albert Gipp. He's coaching and teaching as Haskell. Another daughter is Judy Gipp and she's living in Albuquerque. Leslie Gipp is living in Ft. Yates, ND. Jeannie is deceased and did not have any children. My father, Benjamin, died around 1973. He was married to Mary Ellen Little Eagle. She died less than a year after he did. They had six children. We are living all over the U.S. I'm in Missoula, MT. No I don't think the Antelopes have any connection to MN. There are Antelopes from more than one Indian Tribe. I know there are some Antelopes in Wyoming too. The Antelopes here in Bullhead are Hunkpapa. Please reply and tell how Bessie is related. I don't know who her father was or anything. I can request her enrollment file from the Standing Rock Agency on Monday and see if there's any information on her family. The James McLaughlin papers are on microfilm here at the University of Montana and I'm going there on Monday because the summary says there are citizenship papers for some Native Americans in it. I going to look for my older relatives. I'll check out Bessie and see what I can find and post the results next week.
What did you mean by subjected? Was the family forced to move to Crow Creek? That must be why the name no long exists at Standing Rock. Can you give me some family history?

I went back and researched again for bull Ghost surname, and bing!. Found a Jennie bull Ghost. Ancestry had misspelled her name or more likely read it wrong off theoriginal census, which is understandable. In 1920 Jennie Bull Ghost was living at Twp 20, Corson So. Dakota at the age of 74.Herr elatinship to the head of the family was Mother-in-law. __________________ In the 1930 Census for Twp 20, Corson SD, Jenny Bull Ghost is now living with her Daughter Bessie and albert Antelope and their children,at the age of @84. Sheis listed as Mother-in-law.
that is the only one I could find withthe name Bull Ghost.
