Road block please help.

I am looking for any information on Canwiyawa the mother to Makahdegawin/Josephine (Husbands, parents, siblings etc.)

I am also looking for any information on the Angus Elijah line his parents were Mazakinyanmani and Mahpiyaziwin. I know nothing about his parents or if he had any siblings.

Mr Kitto here is what little I have on him:
Angus Elijah aka Okuryanwastedan(sp) Age 47 full blood.
Parents: Mazakimpemani and Mahpiyazuwin both dead.

the 1884 Santee Census lists Angus Elijah aka Phiyanwaste Age 32
spouse: Sophie Elijah Age 25

there is a listing for Angus Elijah in the 1887 Santee Census, but none for his wife.

The 1884 and 1887 Santee Census list Julia Elijah aka Mahpiyaziwin in her 50's.

that is all I have. I am wondering if the Angus Elijah in the 1902 and the Angus Elijah in the 1884 and 1887 Censuses are one and the same. I made up a separate card for both because I wasn't sure.

ancestry only has one Census record for him: the 1920 Census for Santee Knoox,NE he is listed as 69 years old born @1851 in Minn., as were his parents, and he was living with his cousin(s).

I don't know if it will help, but I dropped off some more Santee Census' pre 1900 at the Center today. They run between 1885 and 1900. Maybe you can find more info there.
