Most of the St John families are from the Sisseton Reservation or Crow Creek. As I have studied most of the families that descend from Victor St John then Moses St John in Veblen area, it would seem that maybe Peter St John is from Crow Creek.

Jamie posted the information for me re. contact information for records of births, Marriages, Deaths at Sisseton: St. Stephan's Church Phone: 605-852-2216 Talk to Father Thomas Howell I believe this churchis at Crow Creek. If he can't help you, he can refer you to who can. the rerds for Fort Thompson, West Bend and the Reservation date back to the 1800's and early 1900's. Father Howell also told me that the Catholic Church at Brown's Valley ,MN also has a lot of records.
if Peter St. John was Cathoic, Father Howell may be able to help you. If not, then you're sol.

marni:maybe Jackie can help you, if Father Howell can't. I would also try typing Churches of Crow Creek South Dakota in your search engine and see what you come up with.
