lllizwhite, say hello to your mom for me. You have misspelled the name of your greatgrea grandfather. it starts with an M. His wife 's name is Tokcawin. She already has the baptismal records she needs, and if my memory serves me she also has Jane Takaukutopewin's baptismal/birth record as well from the Sioux Valley Genealogical Center, becasue she brought me a copy of it. Joseph Mahpiyatodan was one of those who requested to be baptized at the Mankato prison on Dec. 24/25,1862 and Liz also has a copy of this two page log record.
You need to communicate with her re these records.

Regardless of what we have we would still like to know if anyone eles may know if they had an english name. But Thanks for ypur input!

I have set a request to the linguists at U. of Minnesota, re. your mom's request to find out the English translation of the names you posted. I haven't heard back from them as yet. when I do, I will send you their response, and willalso relay the message to your mother.
for right now: Mahpiyatodan translates to Blue Cloud or Blue Cloud.but to make sure, I sent his name in with the others.
