mkitto:I have a Yajopi in my idex which shows that he had two spouses during his lifetime:
(1) I don't have her name or info on her, and (2) Tatekohniwin .
the children of Yajopi I have are
George Goodteacher-spouse (1)
Andrew Huntka aka Huntka-spouse (1)
Hupojanyawin listed as a widow-spouse (2)
Kuwinna #347 w/o Charles Henry-spouse(2)
Andrew Sherman aka hoksidantokan- spouse (2)
I am not much good at translating. I went to the dakota dictionary on-line and typed in the names:
Yajopis: Ya means one of two things: to drink up all of something, or to bite
jo-the dictionary didn't have this.
pi means liver
Maza mani - means walking metal or walking Iron

Thanks for the help. I found some info on Yajopis, it shows a Oyedutawin as the mother to George Goodteacher? I have no other info on her. I also am looking for info on a Ellen White/Pazahiyaye I think there is more to her name, but the paper cut off so I can't read it. What about Mazamani's wife Kicaksewin? Thanks mkitto

there is a ellen pazahiyayewin. would this be the same person? i believe it might be dennis mazadidi kitto's wife. do i have it right mikey?

I  do not have naything on George Goodteacher spouse, I am sorry to say. As for Jeremiah Campbell, there were 2 of them. But Jackie would be the one to ask about the Campbells. She's done extensive research on them. |

"Pazahiyayewin" is Ellen White Kitto, mother of my Grandfather Joseph Kitto and wife of my Great-Grandfather Dennis Mazaadidi Kitto.
